I'd have to say Chongun.. Do are too elitist and Barbarians can be quite annoying.

Do is not at all elitist. Anyone can get into Do if they try.

I'd personally say Do as far as roleplay and members of the path go.

Chongun is fine.

Barbarian has the potential with the roleplay. There are some who do it well without coming off like an annoying brat. A couple of guides. One that I spoke to recently. And maybe a few walkers. But the majority are annoying, god-moding brats. I don't think I've ever come across anyone as baffling as some that I've met.

Barbs all the way because they have the spells.

Depends on what your values are.

You like insanely strict RP? Willing to spend 6 months or more as a regular warrior waiting to get in?
Do is right if thats the case

Like roleplaying a nice justice noob guy whatever!!
Chongun (sucks)

Like leet spells and cool looking itams and easy to follow RP?
Barbarian

I picked Barbarian because RP is dead in nexus pretty much. I'd rather have spells and items.

I evaluate this on two different spectrums, since they're two completely different things and are both very valid in determining the best warrior subpath.

Roleplay:

1) Do -- By far the best, mainly because the difficulty getting in draws the best roleplayers there. It's kind of a masterstroke.
2) Chongun -- Nearly every Chongun at least attempts roleplay. The reason they're not #1 in this category is because they just aren't as skilled at it as the Do. They aren't even as good at it as the Barbarians, but more of them try.
2) Barbarian -- Not very many Barbarians roleplay. Of the ones that do, very few do it well. I would say they are about even with Chongun in this category.

PK/Hunting:

1) Barbarian -- Let's face it, their spells are the best.
2) Chongun -- Invincibility is a very powerful PK tool if used right.
3) Do -- Eh.

Total:

Barbarian -- 5 pts
Do -- 4 pts
Chongun -- 4 pts

Barbarians win purely because of spells.

Barbarians win all three categories. The fools here posting in favor of the Do fail to realize that all they have are a few individuals that can play the part of a quiet and respectful warrior -- it can't get any easier than that. We actually go out and do something in the Kingdoms and get involved in larger RP events (such as Kinung). The fact that we have such a strong presence is what makes us so loved/hated by everyone else. But go ahead, you guys can enjoy your "Hooje places an Apple on your head" roleplay. We'll do something that's actually interesting.

I look forward to your flaming responses. :-)

Many barbarians think roleplay is yelling "TOWNIE!!!!" at someone and then using the push spell 20 times on them and then gating. Barbarians host some of the best events out there hands down and some do roleplay amazingly (Gobiin comes to mind) but the bad ones far outweigh the good ones.

I don't like Do. It is almost impossible to just have a basic conversation with one without them trying to be elitist and speaking in riddles to you. Most of them won't even relax and have fun when hunting, everything has to be serious roleplay. This is why I almost never allowed a Do to join my group. Not to mention their biggest event is an event where you ask someone questions for 45 minutes.

I agree with winder, hands down barbarian is the best in all catagories. Roleplay is something iffy to everybody. Its hard to have a clear cut line of what roleplay is and what isnt for most people. But barbarians do roleplay in almost anything they do. Technically hunting for a barbarian is roleplaying to an extent. The raiding and killing aspect anyways.

Everything in your post was negated when you said Gobiin roleplayed amazingly.

Either way as far as do goes I've had different interactions with them. I've yet to know one to come off as elitist towards me nor have I ever known them to speak in riddles. It also seems that you're a bit ignorant about Do in general. They host as many PK related events as Barbarians ( Masai, Joust, Fencing ). And I appreciate the Q&A because it gives people who're interested in the path an easy outlet when it comes to interacting with other Do.

Far easier than Barbarian where few even stay in the cave for a long period of time. A handful do though. But it's usually the same people there. And only one or two attempt to roleplay including the one guide who I mentioned earlier.

But as you say. Most Barbarians roleplay is subpar. I'd say that most people in that path have no idea how to strike a balance as far as RP goes. It's usually the extreme. And more often than not they usually do resort to screaming townie and "rp" breaking someones jaw without a reason.

Then again most probably join for the spells so doing th RP thing probably means nothing to them. And yeah. Want PK spells. Go Barbarian.

You ought to know though Winder that the Kinung thing with the Mayor was not brought about by your path. That was one Barbarian working on his own because he was promised a positive mark in return for it. You would also know if you interacted with members in your path more that many of them (or ones i spoke to) were not happy about being dragged into that Kinung thing.

And I can't say that one Barbarian made your path interesting. In fact I felt for those who were embarassed by it

But to the OP.

Want valuable PK spells? Go Barbarian

Want more defense spell? Go Chongun

Want invisible? Make a Rogue. Interested in RP? Go Do

Want to hunt? Go CR.

1. No one cares about Do events, they care about our events.
2. It's great that the Do hold Q&A and are respectfully quiet. That's the most boring form of RP you could possibly have.
3. I'm retired now and am not dealing with the specifics anymore (I can't comment either way), but why do you care about the nonsense behind it? Just enjoy the event that one or more barbarians spent time to put on for you.
4. Barbarians did an RP event with the Spies just last week. Do stood around being quiet as usual.

P.S. "The extreme?" As I said in my last post, go enjoy your "Hooje places an Apple on your head" roleplay.

1. So no one cares for Do events but everyone cares for Barbarian events? I can't understand how you'd know otherwise. As you rarely leave your circle. I participate in both Do events and Barbarian and I'd say you all have an equal amount of activity.
2. The Do Q&A is similiar to what Barbarian gatherings were. I say were because most people in that path can't be bothered with holding anything roleplay oriented. Since most who join Barbarian do so for the PK aspect which is fine. As far as roleplay is concerned it's really subjective. I see nothing wrong with how some Barbarians roleplay as some of them can find a balance to it.
3. Already said my piece on it.
4. It's obvious you're going off of hearsay or from someone elses accounts. There was no "event" just one Barbarian acting foolish and god-moding as usual.

P.S. There is an extreme. The extreme being that some people in that path can barely manage a thought that doesn't revolve around calling someone a townie and spamming push. And going against anything that's said in you alls scroll.
Plus I've said already. I have been impressed with some Barbarians roleplay. There are a handful that I've interacted with who may roleplay drunkards and whatever else but don't come off like obnoxious brats like your very own princess Zelda.

1. I've gone in the past. Do need to announce their events in advance for anyone to show up. We can sage an event anytime we want (except off-hours) and fill the cave. That's the difference.
2. Barbarians led the gatherings. Do sit there and answer questions from the audience.
3. Ok.
4. You seem to be following everything we do closely. Glad you're so interested :-). One more reason we are better than the others.

P.S.
1. I find whining more annoying than being pushed a bunch of spaces. So we're even.
2. I always did tell him he picked a crappy name. You'd have said that even if he weren't obnoxious tongue.gif

You have this backwards, probably because it's more interesting if there is conspiracy involved. The Barbarian in question wasn't promised a mark for any action to be undertaken, he was given the mark for multiple reasons beyond his involvement in Kinung.

But, again, I suppose that's not as interesting as thinking he was bribed by some corrupt official.
