Shaman were asked about Il and Ee san. I brought up the name of Mog-ur based on the Clan of the Cave Bear book where Mog-ur was the clan shaman. There is no shaman from an earlier date even in recorded history. Once the rest of the subpath heard the story the Il san title was accepted. Anamachara was selected by Wildhair? More likely someone else suggested it to her and she put it out as her invention. It means "soul friend" which is appropriate for Shaman. Anyway we were asked so I wonder why the other subpaths weren't. I have no idea who picked Sul'sah or what it means.

Thank you! I always wondered if that was where the name came from or not. I fell in love with that book about 15 years ago and I still love to reread it every once in a while.

As for the Muse Sa sam name, I was never asked for it but I wanted to be prepared in case they ever did. That's why I held a contest about a year back within the path. I need to remember where I wrote that down though...

No, again I will state this.. NO PATH WAS ASKED FOR NAMES IN REGARDS TO SA SAN!! It is either they were all asked at once or none at all. It was done AT THE ELDERS OWN DISCRETION! No Archon or GM would ask an Elder individually about something like this. If it affects all paths, it will be posted on the Elders board. No other means of communication is used!!

Pretty positive thats what he's trying to get across.. Or that he was just on vacation when they asked..

Or maybe thats what he told the archon when they asked...

Regardless Silent we still like you rolleyes.gif

I have been waiting for Sa san since Sam san came out and I personally think that the difficulty of getting Sa san and I can be pretty sure the trials alone will be extremely hard and I want to get a Room attack even if it is some what weak I have seen this spell in action and it's not the damage it does but the weakening of creatures so your fighter can kill maybe something higher then usual personally I also think that in a carny it should be turned into a single hf or even a 2nd Inferno for the carny side of it.

I vote yes for Room HF!

Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure that's something else all together. I've seen someone else do it recently...and they aren't around anymore. Ha

This image was made for Nexus Atlas' 2006 April's Fool joke. We came up with some great spells ideas and made up images to show them off. That "spell" was intended to be a summon so that no one could tell which was the real you. I've forgotten if we said it could be used in carnage.

Make up some of your own spells and illustrate them. It's fun!

Room Whirlwind for Warriors.
Room Scourge for Poets.
Room Desperate Attack for Rogues.
Room Hellfire for Mages.

These skills are long overdue and should have been implemented at Sam San.

The problem is that once you implement a spell like that, what do you give them for Oh San? And what about after that? Sa San spells should be buff, certainly, but they need to not "cap off" a particular type of spell for future marks.

I still say room spells are a bad idea. Are they decently buff? Then you get like 1 of each fighter path(buff), and take out a whole room of enemies every 2-3 minutes. If the aethers are longer than that, what's the point? What about pk? Do you just make the spell not work? Wouldn't that cheapen sa-san greatly? Otherwise how would insanity or things of that nature EVER work?

And while I say oh-san will never be needed without an overhaul to the game's xp and hunting system, nothing beyond that will certainly ever be needed even WITH said overhaul most likely. I looked at the user list for a quick comparison and the mage Guitar is almost oh-san mana. At best, like 2-3 people under him could have oh stats, and even at that and counting EVERYONE above him, that would only be 40 people at oh stats. Add a few more temp bans/unregistered buffies, and I doubt you'd hit 50.

For comparison's sake, mages stats at:
sa: 800k/640k, 1.3trillion xp
oh: 1m/1.28m 4.2trillion xp
yook: 2m/2.56m 16trillion xp
(Putting vita a good bit lower on oh/yook because mages "could" go these stats because with that kind of mana for invoking, they'd have dedicated poets anyway)

Oh-san would be utilized by a very small bunch of people and the people getting oh stats to do trials would be in the single digits over multiple months at best. Yook isn't even on the horizon for almost anyone in the entire game.

Poets are about the same stats, rogues would need a bit less xp and warriors the least, due to stat ratios. But 14.2tril for 5.12m/500 isn't too much of a difference.

NexusTK is in a very sorry state if, after a room attack with a big aether is added, there is no new ideas for spells then.

Google "rpg spells" and you'll have access to hundreds of different spell ideas that could be implimented for Oh San, or Sa san for that matter.

My point really is that a room attack for classes is long overdue.

DM (if he still exists) has had Sa san stats for like 5 years. A lot of characters have obtained Sa san stats over the years; the thing is not many people continue to play Nexus because it's so incredibly boring. Gameplay has not significantly changed in like a decade, and as funny as that sounds I am not being sarcastic. The game really is that old.

Nexus isn't ready. You said it yourself. "...is in a very sorry state". Too much would have to be changed. Besides, why add full room attacks? To effectively cheapen the entire game with one spell?

How about more spell patterns that take strategy to use instead of "omg I wunt 2 pu5h teh one button & make all bad things g0 away"

Dave, what are you talking about? There is a significant amount of people who play who have Sa Stats.
