Given how KRU treats TK like a daycare, I'm surprised they don't verify the websites they link to on their page:

I don't think a new server is wise either. The grinding in this game would make it so that after a week, the somewhat large group of players who hunt 16 hours a day would again be so far ahead of anyone else, it would be a matter of months before the game was back in the same spot it was before.

Rather than offering a way to start over and do the same thing, KRU needs to fix what's wrong with the game first. If KRU addressed the issues that others have mentioned above, then maybe I would consider starting over. Until that happens, I'm not going to waste any of my time re-rolling on a game with a [Content removed] foundation.

Truthfully, I don't understand OP's fascination with starting over, it doesn't make any sense and I haven't seen a single person who's even agreed with OP. If you want a chance at enjoying the game the way it exists now, you'd just be better off buying an account for $100 and getting a 5 year head start. Ain't nobody got that much time to waste.

You get to 99 in few hours with normal means or by some leveling items? Leveling items generally make sense for people making alts or a new main but already had leveled at least one character.

I played a game that had a lot of similarities(on its former self - its something else now) for almost 7 years (2004-2014 but with 3 years break in between) and towards endlife of game they had added a lot of leveling items like exp balls etc but anyone could choose not using them and older players generally recommended new one to avoid using leveling items on first char(maybe apart from double exp), especially before rebirth. After 2014 the company removed almost all leveling areas though so people can level only through cash shop items(ultimate cash grab - no option to level manually) and gameplay turned from being a balanced game to a game you just move around towns checking for people to pvp(cause they made it mandatory to advance on 2014 too). I have read some of your forum posts saying KRU is bad, lets just say....there are far worse companies out there too, lol

You cannot solo to 99 efficiently. It would take you a month or more to do it by yourself, assuming you even choose a class that can solo (Rogue/Warrior) On top of that, you'd need to be wearing best in slot gear for your level, which isn't going to be available to a new player; you'll have to get gold/items from other players and or have them leech you to even get to 99.

If you're paying with PayPal, make sure you correctly cancel the monthly subscription. They're a bit tricky to find sometimes. If you're using a Credit Card, just call the company and have them block charges from KRU.

Though I don't see how this fixes their original problem; charge backs. Now a person just sends the Kruna Shop Reg Code to the person through KRU, but they can still run a charge back on the kruna purchased. Now the person who bought the code for gold had a charge back placed on the item they bought with gold. I find it hard to believe KRU eats that; instead they'll probably hold the account hostage or un-reg it.

How this is any different than straight up buying a code from someone is beyond me.

Unless I can log on and progress without having to pay, it's not free to play.

If anything, this game seems to be making a shift towards a pay-to-win strategy, like many mobile games.

So uhh... have fun with that.

Yeah KRU is making a huge mistake by even considering going this route. There isn't enough they could do to go pay to win without putting items in item shop that are basically "Jump from 99 to Sam San", and even then, that's never going to work, at least not right now.

Player base is too small, but there's enough to do in the game that new players should be able to learn the game by playing it, while at the same time, doing so at a much faster pace.

So interesting update this morning:

Server & Client Patch - August 26th, 2016

- MQs can be performed twice a day & two Daily Coins dispatched per day -- Is there a time limit on how often you can do the MQ? I got [Content removed] to do and probably don't have time to do MQ at opposites times of the day

- Woonsoo gives you an option to consume saved up MQs (No exp. or Daily Coins given with this option. Available for one month only) Further MQ rollover is removed. I guess this is the previous function of MQ where there's a formula for how far back you can go and get credit for past MQs; glad they added this back

- Experimental Kruna item: Experience Envelope that will hold and restore1 Bil. Exp., cost: 5 Daily Coins or 1 Big Malga, can be purchased from Woonsoo. Used to sell more Exp. than Max. Tradable (Nah...) This needs to store way more than 1B. I think it should store at least another max if not more.

- Experimental Kruna item: Fragile Orb of Mercenary Warrior, non group use, cost: 5 Daily Coins or 1 Big Malga from Woonsoo. (U)se the orb to summon and dismiss mercenaries. Very interesting concept. If they could develop a sudo AI that you could hunt with, poet for fighters and fighter for a poet, to allow them to solo or complete a group. This would be very interesting.

Curious to see how the mercenary thing works, but it could be a really neat concept.

Because you know, god forbid you play a game where you have to level up.
Welcome all to the age of entitlement.

That's something that old people say.

Truth is, with so many platforms and other games available, you have to be able to make your game worth sticking around for. Even AAA title games now are only seeing playtime for a couple of weeks, then people go on to the next game. You don't see developers making as many MMOs anymore because 1) They take a huge amount of time to develop 2) you have to keep the servers up and running, continuous maintenance 3) you have to keep your player base interested and providing new content constantly.

What's the last big MMO you can think of that has been released that had any type of praise? I honestly can't even think of one off the top of my head.

What you're describing has nothing to do with "this generation of gamers." This is the gaming equivalent of "well back in my day I had to walk up hill 10 miles, twice, in the snow, just to get to school!" You're not talking about playing a game, or game design, you're talking as someone who isn't a gamer and doesn't play games. You're an old Nexus player. Not a gamer. It's never been a viable business option to have the time gating and infinite stat gap, that's why Nexus is the only game in the HISTORY OF GAMES to have it.

Everyone who is asking for less time gating and bringing people up to larger stat thresholds so more people can play the game together are buffer than you. We're past Oh San stats. This change doesn't even effect us. C'mon man.

You bring up a good point. There are so many people who play Nexus that probably don't even play any other game or would even be considered gamers. They started playing Nexus in it's prime when it was becoming a popular outlet for socializing. Look at the majority of people who have 'power' roles in Nexus, I highly doubt any of them even play any other game; and that's a huge problem.

So, in Buya Gathering, there's a tent. You go in, and there's an NPC who will give you one "Daily Coin," and will also exchange boxes for those coins. You can exchange 1, 50, or 100 coins for a box. I exchanged for a 1 coin box, and it gave me 1000 coins (gold) and some "Egg and fish noodles" (value: 5000). I guess you can get one coin a day, and if you save them up, the "prizes" in the bigger boxes are probably much more valuable. No idea if the "day" counter is calendar days or like minor quests, or what level is required to start getting coins, etc. I guess we'll see.

Not sure where you came up with a lot of that but:

1) You can get a coin every 6 hours
2) The turn in is for 1, 5, or 20.

It is located in the Buya Gathering though.

Sa san doesn't make you a top character. It puts you in the top 1500~ players assuming all people all registered, it puts you in the top 500 if nobody else registered except for who was around today. Oh San puts you in the top 170 today. Now, hunt another 1.28million mana after you reach oh san. That puts you in the top 50 players right now.

Really think it's unreasonable to bring everyone up to sa san/oh san and then let the exp be normalized after that?

Would be great if this could be shown on a graph.

I don't think people understand how strong the Top 50 are, and what their total EXP is.

One month equated to 4 chances to win, each week 2 people won with 4 HMs. Some weeks only 6 people enter. If you go a month and dont even get an HM you, well, kinda suck.

It's only 1st, 2nd, and 2 HMs now.

Pretty sure DM helped pick out Sa San Spell name and Shield graphics. Interesting though that you'd even admit to helping on Nexus with how critical you are of it and the way it's designed, especially since none of your ideas you write about on here have ever made it anywhere near the game.

That's like saying I helped design the game because half of the content on the Game Masters Book of Help was written by me.

Since you said you tried to reinstall it already, try http://trace.nexustk.com/ . Almost sounds like you are getting blocked somewhere and cant make a full connection. And/or a firewall blocking it?

trace.nexustk.com still points to their old provider. The new servers are on AWS, so I'm not sure how relevant a trace would be, especially since it doesn't do anything other than a traceroute.

Make sure what ever ISP you're on doesn't block AWS, or make sure if your work laptop has any kind of software firewall that you probably want to disable it.

Then don't tell people!

There's no way you're going to convince me there is an epidemic of players "doxxing" because it's literally impossible for someone to know who you are IRL unless you share that information willingly in the first place. If you make that information known you can't very well expect it to remain private. The expectation for privacy becomes unfounded if you go around telling people the private information.

People complain about protecting their personal privacy yet post their entire life on Facebook.
