Vini, when my autorenewal was cancelled the same night I posted something critical despite nothing changing with my payment method (I had 15 days before it was even going to charge again), and when I was logged on and then I was filtered to saying "I am a nuisance" (etc.) about three minutes after I posted something critical (and it was deleted), and when I tried to re-register and got both an error message and a refund in my e-mail, I can be 99.9% certain that Wony has decided to ban me, without the trouble of actually banning me.

Wony has decided to get rid of me, but he doesn't have the balls to actually put anything on Scum or jail me, because I didn't do a goddamn thing that was wrong, I just annoyed him. I called him out on all of his petty nonsense, and so he banned me for being a "troll."

I dunno, seems like something Scott Lee would do.

So, for posting some critical things (largely about how Wony is constantly lashing out at his own customers), Wony has cancelled my autorenewal, blocked me from renewing (I assume, since I keep getting an error when I try), and is filtering everything I say or post (on all characters) to something insulting about myself, but hasn't actually banned me or jailed me or even contacted me about anything directly. The closest thing I've had to communication from him is passive aggressive posts on the Comm board about me (and other "trolls").

I mean, if you want to ban me then just do it. Don't be a child about it.

Tangun isn't gone, they just made an option to be able to choose if you want to go there or not. (I guess. It's hard to decipher the news on the main page honestly.) In my opinion, they didn't really make any significant changes. Instead of picking one or the other (get rid of Tangun completely or improve it), they did neither. It's not a choice so much as it's a cop out. But hey, take what you can get right?

Umm, you mean exactly what everyone has been asking for for years? Very few people ever said "get rid of Tangun completely," we just didn't want people trapped in a segregated space for the entire early part of the game, because no sane person new to TK would enjoy that and want to stick around.

This forum is full of bitter former players so you won't get a fair answer. I would definitely recommend trying the game and seeing how you like it. There are a lot of people in the game who are so excited to see actual new players that you should get a warm welcome and help getting started. The active community is fairly small though, so you will spend a lot of time early on wondering where the hell everyone is.

Let's assume you're right that they're moving to a micro-transaction model. Why does that mean the game is doomed? It's been doomed for years on its current trajectory. If a f2p model helps it revive for awhile, so be it. It's not like there's much integrity left to lose, and there's a chance that an influx of new free players could actually make things a lot better.

The only real problem is if they keep doing as they have been doing: make you pay monthly, and then also create benefits you have to pay more for. If they're just testing the potential profit from premium items in a free game, that's fine. If they're just trying to milk their few remaining players for more money, [Content Removed] em.

Apt analogy, but that's a pretty common human flaw. Can you really blame Yan for that behavior? These forums are almost exclusively populated by bitter, former players because that's what the vast majority of the NexusTK community consists of. It's now mid-October - safe to say that "growth" Wony keeps talking about is overhyped/negligible. Shouldn't be a surprise, as they've accomplished very little in six months. I don't see anything former players could get excited about.

Eh, they've accomplished more in the previous six months than in the couple of years before that, but that bar was buried in the ground, so it's pretty easy to step over. They've just failed to address the most important three things in any significant way: Tangun, player base size/subscription costs, and balancing the mid-to-endgame.

Edit: Oh, and their events have been frequent but god-awful.

Considering no one else has ever complained about this, I'm gonna guess the problem was user error, though I wouldn't put it past KRU to mess up and not acknowledge it.

I still remember when the history museum in Dae Shore opened and basically the entire community was trying to get through and the flow of traffic was tough because of that.

I saw tip walk through jailing people in his way for "door blocking". I swear I saw this happen, and tried reporting him for abusing his jail powers. I think I reported him to Rabasha (sp?) who was then Archon Primogen, and jack [Content removed] was done.

I was there too, and no you didn't see that. You have a bad memory, or didn't understand what was going on at the time, or are lying, but when the Museum opened there actually WERE several people who decided to be jerks and block the doors. If Tip cleared the blockage, which I doubt is entirely the case since I remember Shajara having to come and get rid of door blockers, then he was justified.

I have no idea how you'd see him jailing people for door blocking though. How did you see their legends after they vanished? Was he belligerently telling each what abuse of power he was committing as he strolled through, jailing all in his path, so that you didn't need to see them?

P.S. RabSha (who was frankly an [Content removed] but your story's still bull)

I know what they were, and I have put them in my book. And so they will be remembered by students of game design who will use your player history as an example of how to not design their games.

Hilarious.

A Nexus day is only 3 hours though. So 6 hours for a new coin would be an every-other-day coin.

Ahh, I got the "one a day" part from it being called a "daily coin," but apparently "daily" means something different to KRU, and I guess I misremembered the number of coins for each box.

So, in Buya Gathering, there's a tent. You go in, and there's an NPC who will give you one "Daily Coin," and will also exchange boxes for those coins. You can exchange 1, 50, or 100 coins for a box. I exchanged for a 1 coin box, and it gave me 1000 coins (gold) and some "Egg and fish noodles" (value: 5000). I guess you can get one coin a day, and if you save them up, the "prizes" in the bigger boxes are probably much more valuable. No idea if the "day" counter is calendar days or like minor quests, or what level is required to start getting coins, etc. I guess we'll see.

Not really.

Whoever designed these weapons has zero understanding of the RPG mechanics theory, and cannot do basic arithmetic to create an item budget....which probably explains a lot about this game.

Is this in a book you just read? Just making sure the value of added stats sums up the same for every path is silly. For one thing, Poets aren't competing with Warriors, for another, an equivalence between some stats and others is difficult to quantify. How much vita is each point of damage worth? Where does protection fit in? Is Will for a Mage worth the same as Might for a Warrior, and who gets more value out of Grace? It seems like you think every weapon just should be "Rogue Weapon 3" with stats 10% higher than "Rogue Weapon 2" and with vita equal to 2/3 and mana(2) equal to 1/3 of the total vita+mana(2) of "Warrior Weapon 3," etc.

I'm not saying these stats are good and well-balanced. I won't pretend to really know. Or at KRU is competent. They probably aren't. But I'm pretty sure you're full of it too, you just want to call whatever KRU does crap so that people will say, "Hey, he's right, why isn't DM in charge?"

Sonhi Captured Buya, as far as single events go, but the whole Nagnang War arc was a lot of fun. ChiZao was okay, but I didn't really like it much, I thought ChiZao and Nagnag were played as caricatures, and it was tough to do much unless you were buff or had a big group.

I will give an honorable mention to Kajang's Crypt, the story and build-up were excellent, except that the event cave itself was horribly broken for most of its run.

I dunno if anyone else is going to point it out so... that map is really awful, right? It kind of makes me think KRU really has hired new people, because it looks like something someone would throw together after an hour playing around with the mapmaker.

Oh yeah, and what exciting events do you think are going to happen there?!

You want to legitimize a company having the option to ban at will and then ask money to unban, feel free. Just don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

I mean, if they were banning people and then immediately sending them an e-mail, "Your account has been banned, please pay $29.99 to unban the account" you might have a point, but they're not. Accounts banned within the last year can't be unbanned (or couldn't last I was aware). In any case, I'm not "legitimizing" crap, just stating a fact.

DA isn't a success, it gets more attention because some of the GMs like it more (or at least used to) and because it's a little easier to work with. It doesn't have any more players though, in fact it has fewer.

They advertised it. It's not secret bribery or anything, for a fee they'll generally unban you if it's been long enough.

I'm pretty skeptical of anything I hear from Wony, even more so if it's really the old Wony. He'd be more convincing if he said, "No, I'm not Wony, I'm someone new who's going to save the game, not the guy who has let it degenerate for 16 years."

It's nice to see some communication, but I'll remain pretty pessimistic until we actually see some progress beyond half-baked, Archon-executed events, recycled seasonal things, and ten-minute fetch quests.

There's still a sandbox there and you can play in it, and you might be able to have some fun and briefly energize the few tired souls left trying to make it a viable game, but effectively, yes, it's dead. Or at least it's in hospice care, with KRU only giving it the basic necessities for survival and maybe a cake on special occasions, with a few old friends visiting to check on it.
