Dear Nexus community. Please let me introduce new programmers of Kru, Wiz and Kit. Wiz and Kit have strong extensive knowledge and background in MMO server and client programming. And yes, they are strong in mobile platform, too. They already have been working hard under the hood for some time. Wiz was one of the original creators of Nexus and Baram. I am very excited about this reunion. We also have two new GM's in training, and the community will see them at work soon. One of them will be assigned to the item shop management, which will gradually take a bigger role in Nexus. We want to take this opportunity to convey our determination to revamp and revitalize Nexus, one of the longest run MMO games, if not the longest. The world of MMORPG has circled around in a big motion, and after almost two decades, many of us are wholeheartedly feeling and seeing the beauty and the potential of Nexus. And the new modern technologies and environment are enabling small companies like us to do things that were not possible just a few years ago. We are seeing this as a new big opportunity. Thank you for all the suggestions that you have given us for the last few days. Many of the suggestions are incredibly well structured and valuable. We take them very seriously. Please do understand that, for these suggestions really work, there has to be a significant amount of groundwork performed beforehand. It's a tedious and consuming process, and all of us here at Kru are working, studying, and re-learning Nexus. We won't be able to deliver the final outcome overnight, but like many things in life, the work itself would be as rewarding as the outcome itself, and I am sure all of us will enjoy every step of that process in Nexus. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for staying with us all this time. We intend to see you for many more moons and suns to come. Wony PS. Yes, this is real Wony. It has never been sold, loaned, rented, exchange for monetary value, or hacked.

Jake Song was the original creator of Baram, and I think had some credits on the early Nexus client. I can't recall.
Pretty sure it aen't Jake Song, though. I mean, I'd be really surprised if it was. Last I knew he was running XLGames which has some rather successful titles under it. I can't imagine he'd be personally coding something for NexusTK, although I suppose if anyone knew the architecture extensively, it'd be him or Steve Dobos -- but last I knew he was working for InXile.
Dave Kennerly was Orb, the first GM for NexusTK but I don't think he had any credits on Baram itself.
My guess is the new GMs are just Archons, so more of the same there.
Developing a mobile client is the right way to go, though.
Edit:
Also just FYI I still remember when KRU (at that time, NEXON US) claimed someone from Nexon Korea had come named Yin to bring us all these great changes and whatnot, and stayed around as a GM for awhile before "flying back" to Korea, and we all mailed him postcards. Entire thing turned out to be bull[Content removed], and was the same GM we had at the time -- whose name escapes me for the moment, but eventually got fired. He was best known for using GM Eldridge toward the end of his reign, Eldridge having previously been a minor event character.
And when he got fired he logged in and saged that the game was shutting down and that Wony was firing all the white people. Also he jailed a bunch of players he didn't like before he finally had his admin access pulled -- and those jail marks were never removed. I know of this because he smacked me with one of them.
Wony was the owner throughout all of this, so....yeah.....
Based on the past, color me a'bit skeptical of the claim being made here. I did a lot of research into the early history of NEXON years ago and from what I understand it was a two-man company at the start, with Jake Song doing all of the product design and Kim Jung Ju handling the business development. And Jake Song ended up splitting for NCsoft pretty early on, for a reason I can't recall off-hand.
So maybe, just maybe, it's one of the people that replaced Jake Song. But I don't know why such an old veteran of the games industry would be laying down code on this game.
I wish KRU would drop their anonymous username identity crap. If they really have some veterans of the game working at KRU now, let us know who they are. I've love the claim to be true but given the past, I have a hard time accepting it at face value.

I think the question is: After so many years of being silent and ignoring TK, why now all of a sudden?

QUOTE (Hijack @ Apr 13 2016, 02:07 PM) I think the question is: After so many years of being silent and ignoring TK, why now all of a sudden? That's my question. Something must have happened, but what? New funding? Did Scott Lee leave KRU operations to someone who ran it into the ground while he was busy looking at more important things, came back and saw a barn fire? It's not like KRU just "woke up."

My guess is I was pretty close on my estimates of how well KRU is doing financially, which forces them to do something to change the situation. http://www.nexusforums.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=120499

I'm pretty skeptical of anything I hear from Wony, even more so if it's really the old Wony. He'd be more convincing if he said, "No, I'm not Wony, I'm someone new who's going to save the game, not the guy who has let it degenerate for 16 years."
It's nice to see some communication, but I'll remain pretty pessimistic until we actually see some progress beyond half-baked, Archon-executed events, recycled seasonal things, and ten-minute fetch quests.

Still will never touch this game again with Ee Culture and Sam Wisdom. Man to be honest culture is a non factor. Any Dr. Seuss poem will get you an HM. Anyone can do it, culture done in 2 weeks, simple. Sam Wisdom/Sa MQs are just the [Content removed]ing worse though. Still, better than nothing, they're listening sorta.

Still, better than nothing, they're listening sorta. It is not a factor to you and I, but to a new player it is a major turn off.

I doubt the establishment would want me back anyway lol... there needs to be a display of results. Even a beta for mobile or a listing on app platforms. Guess I'll keep an eye out to see what actually gets done. As for why Wony is suddenly paying attention? Finances, dude. If I owned Kru and had a game I knew had the potential to make way more, I'd be doing what I can to give it every opportunity to succeed. In business, it's adapt or die.

In business, it's adapt or die. Yeah but, why now? It's been "adapt or die" and "finances??" for KRU for like... 10 years? More? Might be right but I wonder what catalyzed this.

Who knows what's going on. Kru is a private company. Unless they tell us something or go bankrupt we can't gauge their financial health easily. QUOTE (Iter @ Apr 17 2016, 07:14 PM) Remodeling the kitchen before selling the house. Very possible.
