Nexus Forums _ Nexus Atlas Official Forum _ We Need At Least 2 Staff Members

Posted by: AllyGator Aug 5 2007, 10:00 AM

First let me say we don't need any more reporters or forum moderators. Here's what we need:

(1) Someone who is somewhat familiar with HTML with a good knowledge of tables. Also should be familiar with file structures and FTP. Willing to work on very boring stuff. Basically fixing mistakes and adding routine pages with little creativity required. Someone who doesn't get easily bored. rolleyes.gif

(2) Someone very knowledgeable in creating, updating, retrieving and displaying data from mySQL databases. Also needs to be familiar with php and html. Know enough PHP to use include, retrieve, $GET and retrieve variables from a file other than the php code hopefully. tongue.gif

We know we're asking for the moon but we really need more than one person editing content. Please respond to this post if you are interested. List your in-game name, any positions you may hold in the game, how long you've played, qualifications and hopefully a link to something you've already done. For the second job you will need to be a person who is extremely trustworthy. unsure.gif

All this job offers is working with friendly staff and the knowledge that you're helping all of the players in the game which in my opinion is what it's all about.

I've had over two years in writing database driven web applications. I'm familiar enough with PHP to learn anything I need to know about it very quickly. Also trustworthy. ^^ Let me know. Will PM you with other information.

I'm still looking.

I'd volunteer but looking at the NA source I'd have a pain going through it. Is it really necessary to have all those tables? Whatever happened to Icespadez?

Icespadez owns StatAddict now which takes up his free time plus he's got a few other projects going in addition to working for a living.

If you have a good idea for doing away with tables, I'd welcome the help.

I know almost everything about html tables, know a lot of CSS, and I'm in the process of self-teaching myself PHP.

CSS can be used instead of tables, a little more work, but still.

I don't really want the job, mainly because I don't know PHP, but I can help with little knowledge I have.

Ishy seems like a good candidate

I've been in touch with Ishy who hasn't responded. Sigh
