QUOTE (halombobtk @ Dec 5 2016, 08:06 AM) 3. Quests are broken because everyone just has everything. Need a bunch of WBs for Rogue Moon? Just ask around, people will give you them for free. This may be generally true but I just came back to the game after a long hiatus and decided to do some sublime alliances. Finished all the bosses easy enough, but I've been trying to buy the keys for days and days and nobody has any. You need 160 boss drop items to complete a sublime alliance, and as you kill the bosses you probably collect about 60 of those which leaves you needing to buy 100 more, or kill a crap ton of bosses to get them all yourself. The pool of people selling mythic keys is nearly non-existent right now... |

I'll add my agreement that player run justice is bunk and should be done away with.
I'll also back up the assertions that there wasn't an appeals process with my own anecdote. Long long ago (yuri 40s) my girlfriend at the time played Nexus. She didn't give a crap about hunting/pvp/stats, she was just in it for the RP. One day she got into an argument with a diviner over some RP related thing. The next day she was jailed by an archon for using automated third party programs. Obviously this wasn't something she'd done, or ever would do.
There was nothing she could do about it. She tried contacting the archon - reply was something along the lines of "don't cheat next time." She tried contacting the head archon who just referred her back to the archon who jailed her. She tried contacting the judges who said they couldn't do anything about something an archon had done. She tried submitting a ticket but there was never any reply.
The whole point of the game for her was participating in RP, doing subpath events, and gathering legend marks, but with the serious other jailing she wasn't able to participate in many of those things. After trying to figure a way around it she eventually gave up and quit the game, although before she quit she was able to attend tribunal and get the red mark removed, after quite a bit of work. It still left the blue handled by mark on her, which still left her unable to participate in some things.
Point is, somebody dealt with getting upset over an argument by ruining the whole game for the person they were upset with, and that power is still available to select players today. That type of system is broken and should be gone. There should be a paid person at the office who handles the justice system, not players. |

QUOTE (stecobo @ Jun 18 2016, 08:28 PM) Are we missing the point of the trials? Aren't they supposed to be difficult and time consuming? It took me forever to get my Greater Alliances done on both my Mage and my Rogue. I worked until I was able to solo all the bosses, it was near impossible to get people to share at the time that I did them.
Trust me, I hated Ee culture as well as all the Sa san trials. Sam wisdom is just a waiting game. It's more of a Trial of Patience than it is Wisdom.
I think that we've all become used to instant gratification (myself included, big time) as well as wanting to hit the same marks as those around us. I remember being impatient and frustrated with MANY things throughout the years.
What is truly missing is the community that once was. The mystery of certain subpath members wandering around and the chills you get when you saw a Sevenleaf sword for the first time. When we could all work together to help retrieve deathpiles or come together to solve quests or events.
I believe that Wony is doing his best to bring back the community that we used to have. It's nice to see all the effort being put forth. I just hope it works and that the current players can help bring it back to what we remember. There's a difference between taking forever to get your greater alliances done, but having them be possible, and it being impossible to get sa san trials done without the top people in the game in a group to help you. If you don't have them then you're screwed - and there are less and less of these high stat players around to help as time goes along, making it next to impossible to complete the trials. |

This idea from dreams in game a week or so ago could be used to help new players catch up (see below.) It could be set up in a way that let newer players catch up more quickly and easily without boosting the buffest players further ahead of them at the same time like WS does. It would also be good for people who can find a group or people who like to solo if it is implemented well. QUOTE Add some quests for extra exp that can be completed by different levels - this would both work as a guide for new characters, giving them ideas of where to hunt, and a way to gain experience faster, and a way to make hunting less monotonous.
Basic idea - this would be like a minor quest, but an NPC would ask you to kill a certain number, say 150, of a particular monster. Once you'd killed the requisite number, you'd return to the NPC and they would reward you with a big burst of experience (or stats at higher levels since we have such a small exp cap.)
There would be different quests for different levels of players - like 1-30, 31-60, 61-80, 91-99, 99-wasabi, wasabi-il, il-ee, ee-sam, sam-sa, sa+. And there would be multiple quests per level.
So for example at the 1-30 level there could be a quest to kill 150 Green Squirrels. Not only would you get the exp and drops from killing the squirrels, but when you'd finished the 150, you'd go back to the NPC and get something like 82,500 exp all at once. This would effectively nearly double (or more) the rate of exp at 1-99, but it also gives little mini goals to work on as you level, and prompts players to check out various caves and areas of the game.
Past 99, instead of getting experience, you'd turn in for your choice of either vita or mana.
For example, at the il san level there could be a quest to kill 150 Giant Mud Turtles from the Turtle 3 cave, and when done you'd get a reward of increased vita, mana, or split between both, equivalent to what you'd get if you sold their 1.35 bil exp (or more) at your current stats.
These are just examples, the exp, stat gain and number of monsters needed to be killed could be adjusted to make a nice balance, and make the quests worth the time it took to complete them. There would be a fair number of different quests to choose from different caves for each level. There could even be some that were repeatable as many times as you wanted and others that had a bigger bonus but could only be done once a day and were in caves that are harder to hunt. |

QUOTE (SilentS @ Apr 6 2015, 08:58 PM) Can always pull up the thread about the Sa san names and consider some of those for Oh san as well if you want ideas. The way I see it, if they asking for names now, they are at least 80% done the trials. Bigger question is, how bad are they going to be compared to the Sa trials. The getting the stats trial has always seemed much longer and harder than any of the other trials, especially so when it comes to Oh san. |

QUOTE (Interstate @ Jan 28 2015, 04:51 PM) This whole thing is actually rather confusing.
Some people are claiming that the clan is being shut down for quota and the only reason they are disbanding is because of threats to shut down the clan from quota.
Other people are claiming that KRU / Archons are trying to stop the clan from being disbanded, which kind of negates the premise of the previous claim.
This is a mystery that may never be solved... They'd been threatened for quite a while about not making quota, and due to those threats they decided to just give up rather than deal with all the continuing crap and disband the clan - but then when they tried to vote at tribunal to do just that, the Archon told them they couldn't vote to disband the clan, and that Kru wouldn't allow it to be disbanded. |

QUOTE (Poet @ Jun 13 2014, 08:24 AM) I was a 12 year old 7th grader, who killed squirrels on the reg near the buya warrior guild. I also enjoyed the haunted house later in life (and sneaking into locked doors by standing near them till you get sucked in) I'm now 27 and work, like anybody else I tend to play a few months then quit for about a year, but I still enjoy the game. If I ever win the lottery, a few friends and I have plans to buy out NexusTK, and fix it up to run smooth and have content throughout the entire spectrum of levels, not just sa san+. This is still by far the best game ever made, but has lacked updates for the last 10 or so years, sadly. I think pretty much every serious former/current nexus player would buy out NexusTK if they won the lottery. There's enough of us that the odds are just awful instead of astronomical lol... In more practical terms, there are enough of us that some of us may become wealthy enough through other means to buy the game out. What blows me away is that it is still around! I do enjoy popping in from time to time. |

Does that make sense to anybody else besides me? real life does get interesting though. Yes - that makes sense. |
