I remember when all you had to worry about was whether or not someone was trying to cheat you in a G'oh game with a computer sim.
That aside, what's with all these Nexus hacks, anyway? I heard just the other night that there's a Rage hack that just doesn't let you waste any time between Rages. How flippin' lame is that? How LITTLE SKILL do you have to have that you can't hit a single button and watch one set of numbers?
It's a pretty hard line kru has to walk, I guess. I imagine they would love to ban each and every 3rd party program user as much as any of the other good guys want to, but they just don't have the patronage. If I had to take a stab in the dark, I would say that a banning of all accounts who are or have in the past month been using 3rd party programs would drop active accounts by 10%. I'm no business major or anything, but that seems to me like it would put a dent in profits.
At the same time, protecting their names is pretty weak. I'd love to see each and every one of them be made the laughingstock of the towns. If the rumors are true, and Mandella -cough- Sindella was one of those who were banned, then you're damn right "she" (read: he) should be stripped of "her" (read: his) power.
Which once again leads me to question mug's incentive: why? We ask for people who hack to be punished, and as many people have before stated, they get a break. Why protect their identities? And could you please copy/paste the exact line (or lines) that make releasing their names illegal?
In my opinion, kru *should* permaban a few big names that have been found hacking, as a sort of example. |

Well, it seems like it was the Santa Mhul event. Either that, or the router.. we ended up just springing for a new one. However, seems we've developed a new problem: I can't idle. Yeah. If I sit still for more than.. about 30 seconds, sometimes longer, I get disconnected. As well, while on Firefox, pages take between 5 and 15 seconds to load (as opposed to the usual 1 or 2). Not sure if they're related, but I imagine they are. Thanks again for your replies. |

I hope it's not a computer issue.. durn thing's brand new. From Best Buy, though, ironically enough.. Yeah, now that you mention it, Rachel, it could very well be the new game features... heh, should have taken my wisdom test I guess. Thanks! |

Alright. So something kind of strange has been going on lately.
Ever since Santa Mhul, my internet has been all sorts of whacked out. Constant lag, disconnects, yadda yadda. We finally decided to pick up a new router, and it has mostly fixed the problem.. I guess more like changed it. Now, while I'm actually *doing* something, my internet works fine. However, not 20 seconds into not moving on Nexus, I lag out.
When I run a traceroute through the nexustk site, it begins timing out after the 11th hop usually. I don't really trust it very much, though. All other traceroutes done manually and to sites such as google and yahoo are normal.
In my router's firewall log, there are a LOT of entries, happening in random intervals, with titles such as: "UDP Flood to Host", "fragmentation flood", "Ping of Death/Tear Drop", and "Smurf". Mostly fragmentation flood though.
So, any clue guys? Thanks. |

QUOTE(Genji Works @ Sep 11 2007, 01:34 PM) Let me correct you on a couple of things, to save time for people who are too busy to reply. I on the other hand was bored and thought I would post.
1. People who quote, 'Do You Have Lives?'. Usually, are the same people who can't learnt to live independent on their own and are found living with their parents, mooching off, the bills, food, and whatever society has for them. This is common these days because the high cost of living and the low cost of wages. The correct term you are looking for is.... 'Is this topic so important to you?'
2. Mug does not own Kru Games. Last I checked it was owned by Wony. Mug is an employee that works for Kru Games and like all employees, there is a code of conduct all employees must follow. Those who have COMPLETELY NO SENSE OF BUSSINESS or ignorant of one who runs one have no idea that ' they can do whatever they want' is a falsehood. All bussinesses must run a certain way and must follow protocol.
3. Yes, people $9.95 a month! Thus ensuring that Kru Games is staying afloat... But, bussiness is not doing as well as it should if they have to have an item shop, while having a subscription.... which is pretty peculiar if you ask me. I usually know many MMORPG that are free to play but with item shops... or subscription based with no item shop... which tells me they must need money to rely on this.
So, in the end if paid customers are not happy.... they are not paying... and this should be a concern for you... cause if bussiness is not good due to dropped subscriptions. The game goes down, whether you are still paying.
So mug, doing what he wants is a falsehood.... My interest of this whole matter is just whether Mug's MySpace is considered Law 41.... and whether posting the link up in NexusAtlas is viable. I believe the link has been removed from NexusAtlas, due to it's contraversial issue....
to refute: 1.) i've been on my own since i turned 18. i will admit that saying "do you have lives" was a baseless and senseless claim. unfortunatly, so is yours. 2.) ok. so mug is who you people think is the big bad man. why complain TO him? why hasn't the anti-mug fellowship tried to contact Wony? why haven't you guys started an anti-Wony sect and start bashing on him for not firing mug and taking responsibility for his game? it's great that you know about how a business should be run; now go about fixing the problem in the right way (which isn't female dogging on a fan forum). 3.) you can take having an item shop on top of a subscription cost in many, many ways. here's a logical one: they know you'll pay. there isn't an outcry for nexus to be free. there was an outcry for new items. as for why there was a (want/need) for money, again, up for debate. could be for greed. could be for company betterment (in some way). i guess i just don't understand how you guys can care so much about something so damn trivial. learn how to program your perfect MMO instead of finding loopholes in the laws of a game you hate; seems like it'd be a heck of a lot more productive use of your time. |

QUOTE(Agrajag @ Sep 2 2006, 03:02 PM) I've never been on a forum that didn't have people who constantly rip on the subject of the forum...
But where they the ones with the most posts? Not only that, were they the majority of the forum? :x |
