I totally respect that you enjoy Final Fantasy XIV. It has better graphics, better hunting and PVP gameplay, but if you like that so much why come back here?

Back in 2006 or 2007, sometime around that I got VERY upset with the way KRU handled a bug that affected me and I decided to quit Nexus. For 6 months I played World of Warfcraft, was fun, I was very interested in the PVP, hunting, crafting, alliance vs horde thing and I enjoyed the game a lot, until I realized it was all but a simulacrum. Nothing we did there would ever influence the story of the game, because they game was built in a way it will never allow to be a true RPG, you just play there by a set of many combinations of possibilities just like any other online game, just like a Call of Duty online, in example. Hence why I eventually grew tired of it and when Mug fixed the problem and apologized for the lack of care the staff support had, I ended coming back to Nexus.

The whole point is: I liked World of Warcraft, but NEVER since I left I went back there to their forums to talk bad of the game and try to convince people to move away from it.

So if you guys like so much other games, stay there and by all means, have fun! But don't come here just to talk bad of a game/community which many of us still enjoy and still want to see it growing. I know Nexus is far from being perfect, but we at least are trying to help. I do try to send a lot of ideas for in game and outside of game business-wise, and despite they ignore it most of the times, the few times they do listen make the whole effort worth it. laugh.gif

We don't come here because we want to see the game die.

Seeing the game slowly die because of lack of care and effort by KRU feels almost personal and like a slap in the face. Here they have the license to a game that they probably couldn't care less if it goes under or not, and once Nexus is gone it will be gone for good. I think most people continually check back here because they may have a glimmer of hope that Nexus gets taken over by another company, or maybe one day KRU wakes the [Content removed] up and decides to change.

That's why I check back. I keep hoping to see something significant happen with Nexus. I think I'd be sad to see it "die". I haven't ever found a game quite like it, especially when it comes to community. I'm also playing FFXIV, and I enjoy the game, but that didn't stop my heart getting a little flutter when I saw a flurry of updates on NA with titles like "KRU cares about us! KRU really, really cares about us!" Although I was sorely disappointed with the actual report. Not sure a Valentine's event and some new AFK animation (along with some undisclosed future changes that may be happening) was what I would call "really, really caring" about somebody.

I would love to return to Nexus, but everytime I re-reg it never feels the same. I left off at level 99 several years ago. I never was much of a hunter. Now that I'm more interested in hunting, my only real option is a leech since there's hardly any level 99ers left. Subpaths seem quiet, and I'm not sure what clans are still around. The game overall seems very quiet when I re-reg.

I'm sure a ton of people have offered advice on how to fix the game. Honestly, I think a good start would be to just get rid of Tangun. The old tutorial system was so simple and great! I tried to get some friends to play Nexus a while ago and they just couldn't get into it because Tangun is a gaggle [Content removed]. That and decreasing the subscription amount to $5 or something. I don't know. That's where my problem is. The community is great and could have fixed a lot of things, but a lot of things need the help of KRU and that help still hasn't come. It's hard to care about a game where the devs don't.

Nonetheless, I keep my eye on NA and the forums from time to time. I think most of us still care to some degree.

I accidentally quoted myself and I'm too lazy and/or stupid to figure out how to delete it, so. Yep.

That's good to hear, or read actually.

What we all understand is that Nexus is a game which CAN be saved and can grow again. There are a lot of possibilities on what they can do, but it requires work and stepping away from the "comfort zone" to try completely new things. Many players offered help to such situations, it's all about KRU having a leap of faith and taking the help.

What I feel is that KRU is at some point that they think that there is nothing else that can be done, but that's wrong. I know for certain there are dozen things that can be done and the most obvious one everyone knows: F2P.

I find it hilarious that there was a news post about how KRU has abandoned the game which was quickly followed by a post about the new update. Which was then followed by how the update is broken. I mean, it wasn't even the new thing that was broken--it was an everyday part of the game that would make you crash.

And yeah, everyone who checks this website once poured themselves into the game and a small part of us still care. We don't want the game to fail because we have these great memories of how it used to be. How great it could be. But the fact is that the Archons are the ones running the game. They are the ones who work on the updates that we get, Kru is simply putting in the code that a monkey could do. What kind of fun is that? Wake the [Content removed] up, people.

To clarify, I am waiting for KRU to die as I might be interested in purchasing the game assets from whatever creditor ends up owning KRU's assets. Given that I think the game actually has a lot of potential in the market and is just being incompetently ran into the ground by a licensor who has never evolved their business model with the market.

So that's the exact opposite of wanting to see the game die. I'm just realistic in that the only way NexusTK will ever be more successful is if the business comes under new ownership. But again, it would also depend on if KRU has actually been storing the registration email information of all former subscribers. They should have millions and millions of emails stored up, which would make a relaunch of the game as F2P stupidly easy. Not only directly emailing past subscribers, but building a target customer profile in Facebook Power Editor that allows for highly targeted ad campaigns to be launched to people who fit the customer profile.

I could turn this whole thing around in a month.

Game is definitely dead, but I still manage to [Content removed] around with the other role players from time to time. I can't say I always have fun, but overall I'm enjoying it still. Then I stop enjoying it, quit, and come back later. Kind of a weird system. Spy subpath is pretty active still if you're into being a nerd with us.
