It sort of depends which path I'm playing.
On my Poet, I'm best in duos/trios. The more people there are in a group, the harder it is for me to keep ASV synched and take care of everyone. (I generally don't like TBS's, heh~)
On my Rogue, I do kind of like using a PA and vitaing, but not all mages can set, and since Cunning can be pretty weak in higher caves, it's slow. I've only once tried sleep-trapping/vitaing (no mage; my husband is a Poet), and it was okay. Very different from using a PA, which I had grown accustomed to.
As for Mage...well, I don't really know, I haven't played very far on her. Setting seems like it would make things interesting, but I'm no good at yet. I basically just got her 99, and stopped. ^^;
And Warrior...well, she's only level 75, so again, I can't really judge. But, I imagine it would be nice in a trio/duo?
Heh. My two cents. *shrug*

ZokUrA(Fury): I love overflowing full sets on aethers, I like soloing just about anything, maybe duo with a poet and overflow moving sets.
ZehAn(Force): I love soloing the impossible woodlands bosses.
BaTosAi(Swift): I love soloing just about anything.. or used to but thats a whole other story... Group hunting using cunning and cycling nonstop.. (With very few mess ups)
WiNdDiAblO(Poet): Soloing woodlands bosses & vortex bosses

If I'm on my mage, I like to set. Setting is enjoyable for me, and I like to challenge myself to make perfect diamond sets while doing BS/Ferno/Overflow sets
If I'm on my rogue, I like to duo with a poet even if it's less experience
If I'm on my poet, I don't really care. I like hunting on my poet the least, but I like PKing on my poet the most, so that's why I'm 1.8/500
If I'm on my warrior, uh... I don't really know, because I pretty much self-leeched myself horse3+, and as I'm kwi-sin, duoing is kind of suicide because I usually end up dying. I still duo with myself in like Chick3, Gorgax+ShaNayNay, and I ww even when surrounded. Sometimes I heal out, sometimes I don't =p Hunting is more fun when there's the danger of dying. Plus, Kwi assault looks hella boss

I don't like to hunt.
If I have to chose a method, cycling attacks with a poet that can handle a rogue in a group with as many people as possible, because its more fun then sitting in a perfect diamond moving forward every 10 seconds or so.

It's almost impossible for me to separate enjoyment of a hunting strategy from experience earned, but I will try. I'd go for setting, just because it's such a constant challenge. The enjoyable sort of challenge, not the annoying sort. There's always room for improvement in your setting, so if you are always working to improve, it doesn't get old. Sleep trap hunting gains second place if only for the fact that I can practically be asleep while doing it.

Hi, I'm Rokugo. You probably don't know me. There is a 95% chance the above post is sarcasm and is not to be taken seriously. I play Real Life to help escape NexusTK. "Baby, for you I'd divide by zero" <--- My # 1 pickup line

Since I basicly ignore the other character on my account, I can only really say for Warrior. I prefer to Duo the most. Keeps me keeps me more active than being in a group where potentially some gripe at you to use a PA (and be bored to death using it), or bad paraing that you screw up your attacks. In duos you have to pay attention to your timings for overflow attacks, as well as poet heals to get the most out of your attacks. In the end giving you something more to try and enjoy. Instead of falling asleep on the space bar. QUOTE(Gerdi @ Sep 24 2008, 07:34 AM) Plus, Kwi assault looks hella boss Kwi graphics in general looks better. Names as well

QUOTE some gripe at you to use a PA (and be bored to death using it) I will go to my grave saying you don't know how to hunt with a PA. I only have a rogue and a mage. The rogue was simply for fun and the most fun group I had was a trio where the poet knew had to cycle(and it was my first time, so not like I was very quick anyway) during the pirate event, so PA + cycling. On my mage, setting comes before EVERYTHING because it is the only very fun hunting thing I have ever done on Nexus, infernoing(comboing with another mage, I only 1hit maybe assassin3 with dh+sleep =P) comes in at a strong second because it's nice to actually talk to people in the group sometimes and play the game without breaking my keyboard.

QUOTE(Vortextk @ Oct 4 2008, 03:30 PM) I will go to my grave saying you don't know how to hunt with a PA. You can go anywhere you want saying that. It is not hard to use a PA. And there are people who do not like using them. You are starting to sound like somebody else we know who says somebody is wrong just because that person does not agree with them.

Polearms are fun, but as a warrior and a poet, I find them quite boring at the same time. If I'm playing a warrior, of course I want to be up close on the enemy vita'ing the hell out of it, and on a poet I want the fighter to vita! Just sitting there while a fighter pokes away senselessly at mobs and being nothing more than an scourge wench...isn't very fun. I always thought that the Polearm was designed for the Rogue. After all it was cool when rogues had flank and backstab added to cunning and could use a PA to it's full extent.
