QUOTE(George @ Sep 23 2006, 10:36 PM) Yes, you can do it, and no it isn't that hard.
Look at pyogenes, he says it takes him 2-3 hours to get 1k wood. He says wood sells for 400-450k per 1k. Lets take the high hours and the low pay.
3 hours = 400k
4mil / 400k = 10
10 * 3 = 30
30 hours for one character to make 4mil
15 hours for two characters to make 4mil
10 hours for three characters to make 4mil
7.5 hours for four characters to make 4mil So now we calculate in sex and the city, which is what pyogenes watches while he wood cuts (this provides him with the "mental stamina"/stability that he was talking about.
1 episode = 1 hour
there are 6 seasons of episodes, totaling almost 100 episodes.
100 episodes = 100 hours
100 / 7.5 = 13.3333333
13.333333333 * 4 = 53.3333332
Now we can clearly see that had he used my method he would have made 53.3333332 million coins his first tme through this series. However, it is important to note that most of us can watch a TV show at least twice, if not thrice and quatro.
Say you are more like myself and you like simpsons, dbz, berserk, samurai champloo or whatever and cowboy bebop (spelling on these? @.o). These will all total up much more than sex and the city. They also have much better rewatch value. However, this complicated method is very flexable, you can also rent movies, watch sports... etc etc.
Good luck and don't forget my cheque.
Hahahaha. I love it. Only thing is - can you really control 3 and four characters to cut wood? I think I could do 2, but 3 and 4....I'd have to bust out my feet to use them. |

QUOTE(jamesuh @ Sep 22 2006, 10:32 PM) I don't think wooling is very fast... I think gathering amethysts is much faster. If you have a partner...
Also, how do you woodcut? Where do you woodcut? Could you really get 4 mil a night? That sounds really ridiculous, because in a week, you would have 28 mil. I doubt that is possible... Unless you woodcut nonstop. What is the unit price of wood, anyway?
It's not true. You'll shoot your brains out once you've gathered 100k in wood. I'm pretty sure that wooling is the best gathering for money in the game. But I'm testing other methods to see how it works out. |

QUOTE(Stardance @ Sep 21 2006, 08:17 PM) yea but what stage can you actually buy ambers, craft them and sell for a profit?
I've heard that with the prices for ambers now you wont make more then a couple of K of profits. Even at master. Gemming is only really profitable if you gather the ambers. Becuase then it's straight delicious profity goodness! |

QUOTE(jamesuh @ Sep 20 2006, 06:12 PM) How do you guys make money? What do you think is the most effective method of getting money? Wooling? Betting? What?
The best way to gain money is to buy low and sell high. And if you can do it while gathering resources (I do Ore because I can get more money/hour then wooling) you win twice! That'll be $9.95. |

QUOTE(Aramina @ Sep 4 2006, 08:50 PM) Well being a mage, I have to say that the demands of a caster are total garbage. If your caster is making stupid demands in the name of exp, tell them to take a hike, I'm sure there's at least a few out there that like to hunt for the sheer fun... nah... well, there's at least a few out there that dont care as much. I have to say though, Takos are wonderful, especially when leeching your lower characters, because after the fourth time through, you generally know the ins and outs, its just a matter of getting your char up to 99 so you can actually do things.
I've never been. If someone wants to leech my mage I'll love you long time. =) |

QUOTE(Yukimura Sanada @ Sep 4 2006, 05:47 PM) Why hunt takos when Dark forest lvls you to 99 in 4hours or less
No it doesn't....not even close...I'm leveling my mage there right now. As for the Takos - I somewhat doubt you can get to 50 in one hour but leeching is always going to be a part of the game in some form or another. I don't know why people complain about pre 99 leeching, as those levels are just a small hurdle until you are 99 where the game arguably starts. |

QUOTE(Rachel @ Sep 4 2006, 12:07 AM) Yes, I thought so...I'm just cautious of giving Kru bad ideas, because they might use them o.o
And I totally agree with you. Everything is given to us now. Many players used to spend hours upon hours hunting down the strange thing. After the event where 100s of big axes dropped and the price lowered to 150k, nobody does that anymore.
Rare items are becoming more common. New items are sold at stores instead of being quested (or event) rewards or event drops. Crafting has been ruined due to unprofitability and lack of rewards. (Expecially for smiths whose useless Fire blades were spam dropped in an event AFTER the graphic was taken by spider swords) Jewelry is probably the worst skill to date. Carnages are a joke both because of the programming and rules foreced on hosts.
Totally agree. It feels to me they are under pressure to pump out "quick fixes" for everyones consumption - a process that kills any market for items. This isprobably the only thing I actually feel is a reasonable complaint about Kru/Nexon. QUOTE While most issues are complex, there is one simple thing Kru could do: Lower the drop rates in events and create event quests. That is, quests that are to be completed within the event, instead of just mindless killing. (That doesn't mean they should remove the hunting aspect from events.. it should have both)

As much as I agree with this, Kru will just get slammed by people complaining that they aren't able to obtain an item. When I first started playing nexus I use to always smile in awe when I saw sun helms and sun clothes/platemails/mantle. Heck when I saw the only non-ladySatin owned sun drapery I took screenshots and told my friend. Now I see sun level and HIGHER armors everywhere! So much for the mystique the game once held. |

QUOTE(Ishman @ Sep 4 2006, 02:16 AM) This brings up something I've been thinking about. Most of our quests and events have to do primarily with gathering the right materials, slaying the right monsters, and talking to the right NPCs, am I correct? What if we had more quests and events that require some thought process? I dunno, like solving some sort of moderately difficult puzzle of some sort. In many RPGs, puzzles are an integral part of gameplay, even if they're just simple and small. I mean, it's not just story that drives an event. Like you correctly stated, players need challenges to overcome. This is the million dollar question all MMORPG developers ask. Every MMORPG has the same problem with redundant quest processes. (gather/kill/run here). Implementing some sort of actual puzzle (move box from point A. to point B. in X amount of moves for example) is not something you can do for massive amounts of people. |
