QUOTE (ToRaToRa @ Feb 3 2010, 12:56 AM) How long is 1 yuri and 1 Hyul in real life time?
What's the current yuri/hyul we are at ? ------------------------------------------------------ 1 Nexus Hour = 7 Minutes 30 Seconds 1 Nexus Day = 3 Hours 1 Nexus Week = 21 Hours 1 Nexus Month = 3 Days 19 Hours and 15 Minutes 1 Nexus Season = 11 Days 9 Hours 45 Minutes 1 Nexus Year = 45 Days 15 Hours 8 Nexus Year = ~365 Days Copyright © 2010, Brant ------------------------------------------------------ Oh, and the Yuri is 111 (Hyul 29) Everything after Yuri 81 Winter was converted to Hyuls. So take Current Hyul + 82 and you'll get the current Yuri. -Brant

QUOTE (Brant) Everything after Yuri 81 Winter was converted to Hyuls. So take Current Hyul + 82 and you'll get the current Yuri. If Hyul 1 Spring started in Yuri 82 Spring, I think he meant add 81 to the current Hyul and you'll get the current Yuri.

[[Which is what he said, so I guess he meant what he said?]] Please disreguard the above statement due to me being an idiot. Thank you.

QUOTE (AllyGator @ Feb 3 2010, 04:58 AM) I think the Nexus Month and Nexus Year are wrong on those. If a Nexus week is 21 hours (.875 of a real day day) and you Multiple that by 4 ( we say 4 even though there are different amount of days in each month, however, Nexus time doesn't differentiate that) and you get 147 hours. This is 6 Days 3 Hours 0 Minutes. This is the amount of time you actually have to wait to get married from time of engagement. Also, if we know there are 365 days in 8 Nexus year, that means that you simply take 365 and divide it by 8, which gives you 45.625, or 45 Days 15 Hours. Each Nexus year has 4 seasons, so you take that 45.625 and divide that by 4. You get 11.40625 which is 11 Days 9 Hours 45 Minutes. From here, I wasn't really sure how to go down from a season to a Nexus month or Day, so I converted from the bottom up, using the fact that a Nexus hour is 7 Minutes and 30 Seconds. I could be wrong with this, but I know for a fact that the 3 Days + 18 Hours on the NA page has to be wrong. -Brant Edit: Found the problem. I was calculating the month based on the wrong values. A Nexus month is 3 Days 19 Hours and 15 Minutes. Updated chart: ------------------------------------------------------ 1 Nexus Hour = 7 Minutes 30 Seconds 1 Nexus Day = 3 Hours 1 Nexus Week = 21 Hours 1 Nexus Month = 3 Days 19 Hours and 15 Minutes 1 Nexus Season = 11 Days 9 Hours 45 Minutes 1 Nexus Year = 45 Days 15 Hours 8 Nexus Year = ~365 Days Copyright © 2010, Brant ------------------------------------------------------

QUOTE (Voyce @ Feb 3 2010, 12:43 PM) moon is month and sun is day. I'm not sure if TK follows our calendar though, it may just be 30suns to a moon? Also is a Yuri 365 days or 365.25? well it's 365.25 because while servers get reset, it doesn't count time during then; so while servers are offline, time stops

I always assumed the former.

QUOTE (Mazel @ Feb 3 2010, 10:14 PM) Why am I under the impression that using hyuls and yuris instead of years is wrong? Is it? Its because of a long-term confusion about the way years are numbered and labeled in our time system. The designation of each year is determined by the King and the number of years he has been on the throne. So the years are designated as Yuri X, meaning "The Xth year of King Yuri's reign." The natural tendency, especially before he died, was to assume that the difference between Yuri 23 and Yuri 30 was a period of time consisting of 7 Yuris. "What Yuri is it?" "29" "What year is it? "29" Its not a big leap to use Yuri as a synonym for year, especially when 29 could only refer to Yuri. Anyways, I wasn't around when the transition happened but it seems that only since then has there been a push not to use Yuri as a unit of time. Personally I agree that saying something like "I haven't seen you in 10 Yuris" is wrong, especially since now it would be confounded by "Huyls." So, the answer is yes.

QUOTE (Mazel @ Feb 3 2010, 07:14 PM) Why am I under the impression that using hyuls and yuris instead of years is wrong? Is it? Yes, it is wrong. But it's so pervasive at this point that I tend to just ignore it. No matter how many times I used to rant about it, it never changed anything.
