I run Windows 7 Home Premium on a HP G62-144DX Notebook. When I click NexusTK.exe to run the game, the login screen comes up for a second before Windows prompts me as to whether or not I wish to run 'patcher.exe', which I do have located in my KRU folder in Program Files. When I select 'Yes' to run 'patcher.exe', the NexusTK login screen closes, bringing me to a blown-up version of my desktop for a second before it flashes again and reverts itself to the original size. Once that happens, I get the loading button next to my mouse for about 30 seconds, but nothing ever happens.

Thanks guys.

Akiru

EDIT: No more than 5 minutes after I posted this, I found a way around it. In Windows 7, (this is new to me, I just got this OS) they have something called User Account Control Settings... maybe not new but something I was unaware of. All I did was tinker that security level down a few notches, restarted my computer, disabled my Norton Tamper Protection, and the Patcher worked. Sorry if this is taking up space now, I don't know how to delete it, but maybe it can serve as assistance to another potential poor soul who encounters the same issue as I did.

This is helpful, thanks. Previously, Windows 7 allowed me to patch with no problems, but apparently it is not allowing it this time. Thanks!

For Vista, it is the same thing as Windows 7, temporarily remove user account controls. For whatever reason this patch is not allowing you to click 'ok/yes' on the popup that user account controls generates to 'ok' the patch. You should be able to go into user account settings and disable it, reboot, patch, and then enable your previous settings.. I could not get the patch to run by temporarily allowing it or 'running as administrator' either. Hope this helps, and thank Akiru for figuring it out first.

You don't have to disable user account controls, just run Nexus as an administrator. Right click on the icon, and select Run as Administrator. You can also set it to do this every time if you go to properties and then the compatibility tab. (On Vista anyway, it's the compatibility tab. Dunno about Windows 7.)

This is not a "Kru Fail". This is the usual Windows fail. Anyways... If Nexus wont run after you patch, try going to your Nexus folder and look for a patch folder. Delete that and try again. I am running Win 7 and had no issues patching. And my User controls are set at med. You can also go to the folder and right click "patcher.exe" and set that to "Run as Administrator" as well since simply doing that to the Nexus program does not affect it.

You trying to just reinstall over it or you try actually uninstalling it first? I found if you dont uninstall, then it causes more issues for me. But if you go that route, save your user and screenshot folders since they would be deleted as well.

I uninstalled my old client and deleted it because the patch wasn't working.
Then I downloaded the new client off the website and went to install it but I get an error telling me a file is corrupt.

So, yeah. I have no nexus anymore.

If you just need to patch, try messing with your antivirus settings (try even disabling for a few mins), or mess with User Access Control under "User Accounts" in the Control panel (if you're using Vista/7). Either that or you can have someone send you an uncorrupted version of the NexusTK.exe file? I dunno.

I wish I still had the older version of the client to patch because I deleted that.

So... can anyone tell me how to reinstall the new client without it giving me an error for a corrupted file?
Oh and I use vista.

If auto patcher will not run, try completely turning off your Anti Virus (solved it for me, running Kaspersky).

If you can not run a clean install (hangs mid installation), re-download the client from the SECOND alternative link on the Nexus website (the file hosted on the actual sites servers not mediafile). The first one is faulty, where as the alternative download, is not.
