If you haven't noticed, mug enjoys doing server resets on Thursdays. I for one get excited when Thursday rolls around because you never know what he's going to do. This thread is open for everyone to ramble about what they like/dislike, what you liked the most about the updates, and what you would liked to have seen in recent server resets (updates).

Hopefully this thread will stay alive for a while and at the same time, keep update topics all in one spot.

It's obviously too early this morning for there to be a reset, but I really hope we see something today. MORE TO COME!

-Brant

Edit: Enjoy.

<b>If you have Vista:

We received this from another player with the same problem and this is how they got it to work.

"I don't know if this is happening to everyone with windows vista, but with both my computers that have that os wouldn't run the auto patch or manual patch or even connect. I had to right click on nexus, go to properties, then click compatibility tab and check the box next to "Run this program as an administrator". After doing that everything worked fine."

In order to solve NexusTK problems on any version of Windows Vista, including screenshot-taking ability and patcher problems.

One-run fix (for patcher):
Right click on NexusTK shortcut, and press "run as administrator".

Permanent fix (for patcher and screenshots to always work):

1) Locate NexusTK application
C:/program files/Kru/Nexustk/ by default
2) Right-click on executable "NexusTK" and select "properties"
3) Select "compatability" tab at the top
4) Check "Run this program as an administrator", press "ok".

This will unfortunately nuisance users with an additional popup when starting up NexusTK. However screenshots and patcher will now always work.

<b>If you have anything else:

If you see a "Patch" folder inside the Nexon folder, delete it. Once that is deleted, try running the Nexus again and it should download the patch automatically.

If you do not see a "Patch" folder, we suggest that you download the New Client from our website to ensure you have the latest version. Uninstall any Nexus old client from your computer before you run the installation.

If you are running any third party programs while playing Nexustk, it will cause your client to disconnect. Any programs running in the background will cause your client to lag or disconnect. We suggest that Nexus should be the only program running if you wish to continue playing without disconnection.

Thank you.
Nexus Team

For some reason this patch worked perfectly for me, (OpenSuSE 10.3) I did just start getting a bug where if I click any field with a blinking text selector it freezes, so I have to either copy stuff from Klipper or Jarnal or say what I want copy and press up to select it. But otherwise no problems.

You know an OS is pretty weak when someone running a game through a compatibility layer has no problems with an install and you have problems on a system that can run the program natively.

I am almost certain Pets will follow in Nexus' original creators footsteps and be itemshop only. Mabinogi (a nexon game) only provides pets through this service, and I am almost certain that the only reason this would be finally done would be do to a hope for large sums of money.

"Run as Administrator" seems to be a universal fix for silly little incompatibilities in Vista.

Could also try turning off UAC. This should help some of those popup problems.

And I'm disappointed that Vini's pet post was mug showing off a pet and us not actually getting it..

The wait continues..

Not sure why you're only experiencing that now. Nexus has been acting like that in Wine ever since the 1.0 betas. Would be nice if someone could find a solution.

I have to agree here. When the mounts came out, there were many unexpected bugs that took a couple of days to iron out. From the way this was mentioned, it seems like the pets are going to be rather complex, and I admire the fact that the pets will be in 100% working condition when they're released.

I have to agree with mug for once. 100% functionality is far more important than "getting it out as soon as possible." And there is absolutely nothing wrong with putting them in the item shop. Pets are purely aesthetic... maybe the chance to earn one or two in game would be accepted as well to counter balance the itemshop. (Dragon egg/book guy in the well anyone? rolleyes.gif )

Agree with mug. Make sure you put Kruna and In-game methods to obtaining one. Yinchuehshan said pets would be in a long time ago.

I like this idea. I believe they should be obtained via cash shop, but there should also be some that should be obtained via quests in game for those who can't afford to spend lots of money on an online pet.

I use Vista also, got run time error also, but the patch still started and downloaded, Nexus ran fine after that.

..unless this patch fixed them, there are still bugs with mounts.

I live by that rule. I do, however, typically avoid showing things off until it's time to be released.
