-frowns-

In the recent Mug event, did any NA staff show up?
Was there any Screen shots taken?
Its nice to see what Mug comes up with now and then and not have to pay for it.

I'm just disappointed that NA won't hire anymore reporters when their current ones can't make the one event once a month.

/ end complaining.

Any Feedback would be enjoyable.

I'll agree, Vini was an excellent reporter, but I have no problems with how they report now. Everyone has their own style of reporting.

For the last few months I've been like the only person who isn't a staff member to report news. But I guess they don't want me as a poster child ^^

I feel like I'm repeating myself.

I did go to the mug event, but I could not see anything. I did take screenshots, but none of them turned out how I would have liked.

Here's one of the screenshots I took:
IPB Image

As you can see, you can't really tell what's going on. Or see anything for that matter. I thought I had shots of the teapots, but I apparently kept hitting the wrong button when trying to take screenshots. ;_; As far as I know, I was the only reporter there.

I'll take the blame for not getting good screenshots so I could post a satisfactory report. But honestly, throw me a [Content removed]ing bone here. sad.gif

The staff is just like everyone else. We have lives to live. I could not be at the event Friday evening. I wish I had because I won something much to my surprise! I'm still looking for my teapot. Maybe you only got them if you attended. We have plenty of reporters and hiring more would be no prove that every event would be covered.

As an example, I've been in touch with almost everyone who has contacted me in the past about doing reporting to ask them for a full write-up about the last pirate event. Not a single one has responded. I usually manage to get all of the information along with maps for the events but this time life kept me away so that I didn't even get to finish the event on all characters even though I had the map pieces. Yeah, it's life. Thank god I have one.

It isn't about having a life, the simple fact is NA has several reporters, yet not one of them can make it to the events? Nothing has been going on in the kingdom for several weeks prior to this. But also there are people who did make it to the event, and people who gave NA decent screen shots. I'm disappointed that the orginal poster didn't say "Here is the winners, I was unable to attend due to RL circumstances, if anyone has some photos, please submit them on the forums". It's perfectly acceptable to "have a life", thats why most of us don't play anymore. But since we have a life, it is nice for us to see news from "NexusTK's #1 Source for News", and still maintain that life.

Nexus Atlas has done a fantastic job through the years, don't scare me by being lazy.

FireTiger, I placed the report up after the event - I was unable to make it in time, and have been too busy to fully flesh out everything. If I had more time I would have definitely done more for it, but I didn't. We have the News Report board for a reason, and if at anytime someone feels we could add more they can either PM a Reporter or even post them on the boards. My apologies, but it seriously isn't the end of the world.

It's not a card, it's a fact. Another fact is that Vini is still part of the staff but inactive. He has quit Nexus and I'm hoping he returns. I agree that he is a great reporter.

Musoyan my "card" is that I'm never online during the hours that events are held unless I force myself to go without sleep. I do that sometimes and it is terrible for my health. Here is another "card" that my friends in the game know but that I don't talk about on the forums. I'm disabled which is why I have so much time to work on Nexus Atlas. It's also why I cannot be available during events unless I want to make myself worse. My health is more important than Nexus and more important than Nexus Atlas and reporting on events. That's my "card"! Deal with it; I certainly have to.

Vini was nothing but a regular reporter. Not better, not worse than others. The style of writing was a bit different because I'm not native english speaker so I always ended writing in simple ways and that was somehow good for news.

I did go to make events just to cover news, I did spend most of the GM events (like pirates and such) trying to write a walkthrough of my own instead of going forward like a race as the others did. But the main difference that I'm noticing is that people used to come to me to report the news, I couldn't be everywhere, people came to me with the info, either by email, whisper, nmail, instant messages and some via Nexus forums.

The contribution of the readers was essential for my news to be posted, if they didn't respect the work done in Nexus Atlas they probably wouldn't help.

Many screenshots that I posted weren't taken by me, I actually asked the people closest to the center of the event to take the screenshots for me. Sometimes such things even gave me trouble, like people started thinking I was part of the event as I wasn't appearing in the screenshots, but that happened for the quite simple reason that the screenshots weren't taken by me and the one who took it didn't want to get credits. It's quite common to have that, specially people from the Do path.

But yes, I've noticed the number of news has decreased, but maybe that's because the number of happenings have decreased as well in nexus. In times like this, I used to make small stuff become news just to fill in the space and satisfy the need of people to read news everyday.

Want a suggestion? I saw Hatiki is posting more in NA than his own website, he probably could add much more to Nexus atlas news than to the dead website he works in. I'm sure he would fit well as he was/is their best reporter.

Hatiki is the best reporter at NTK.net today. However Halucin in the past was the best, but Bravesoul if he comes back is a very good reporter as well.

I have some screenshots I can share, but nothing all that interesting happened. There were four new items which are posted on NA right now and we saw them announce winners and say they weren't online a bunch of times. There's nothing much that happened that wasn't covered in the list of prize winners.

Sorry SungKen, but since I've known that other site existed, which was quite good while after it was created, I've seen Hatiki's work there and was only worth reading it. Halucin isn't bad, but he just doesn't post much and Bravesoul posts a lot but all he does is posting minor news and just copying from community board or other stuff. Most of Bravesoul news were also "users page is down" "users page is back" while Hatiki was the only one who was truly a reporter.
There's another guy there, Dioscouri who used to cover news at the spot too, not much I see about it anymore.

That was supposed to be on default DarkBrood, and when it's on default it cannot be seen by anyone but reporters. I didn't realize that the default option wasn't working so it ended up going that way. Rachel and Ally fixed that option already which we use a lot.
