May or may not be the right spot but I think this is really one of the only places people look at now-a-days Haha.

What's this "Beginner Guide" when you click guide on the side bar and it shows Novice 2%? If you click the picture of the scroll you get this pop up. What is it?

That is just something that was in Baram that was basically ignored on our end. When we asked Kru (GM) and Mug after him, they both said there were no plans on using it at all, and it would be too much work to remove it as well. From what I can tell, looks like it is suppose to be a monster index. The 2% is the list completion. The way I see it, because of how many different monsters we have, the GM's were too lazy to change everything from the Baram names to make it work.

it was this great idea that KRU had but they didnt bother to go with it further. Sort of like this pirate event.

Ah.. thanks for the info gents.. You think it would have been as easy to just remove the tab as it was to add a mana bar for the group tab.. Would have been a pretty neat feat to strive for, getting 100%... maybe after certain levels people could claim prizes.. wouldn't have been to hard to accomplish especially since it was already there and just need some graphics and translation!

Actually it would have been near impossible for many to complete if it was a monster index. A large bulk of the community is in all 3 caves now. So any monster from the 1 and 2 caves, the data could not be obtained. While it would be a neat feature, it would have been needed to be in place from the beginning..... Unless it would have been possible to be filled from any character played on your computer. IE: The file saved in the main nexus folder and not in the character data folders. *shrugs* Nevermind the fact that we have hundreds (no idea exact amount, too lazy to look up as well) of monsters in the game. That is if it isnt ment for openly public monsters outside of the caves.

Sarphendon, this was not Kru's idea, nor did they add it. This was apart of the Baram client when it was purchased.

They could have done it even with the multiple cave levels.

You see, each enemy in a mythic cave corresponds to another enemy in a different level of the cave. Almost all of them are nothing more than a palette swap.

With a little bit of scripting they could assign each enemy a second ID just for this quest. By doing so they could have made it so if you kill a Dog 3 Spotted Mutt, you also get credit for killing a Dog 2 Dog Trooper and Dog 1 Fierce dog.

It could be done. They just didn't want to. Which is sad because we're talking about something that would take about one work day to implement.

Could be done or not would depend on how it got coded, if it was ever done. If it was character specific, then lets use you and I as an example. We are all max caves. If we were required to kill each monster specifically, then we could not fill in the lv 1 and 2 cave info's. If it filled in each cave level for a single kill with the corresponding counterparts, then yes it would be easy. If this beginners guide was ever completed (which I doubt it ever would be), based upon Kru's history, they would probably take the former of the two instead of the better received latter.

Yup... but it couldn't be a file saved on your computer. People abuse the game bugs as is, imagine how many would abuse this if they had access to their own data!

True, but doubt it would really matter that much. All it really is, is an index. *shrugs*

There is about 4 years worth of work I'd rather see done before KRU turned their attention to this; regardless of whether they can implement it into Nexus or not smile.gif
