Anyone considering playing this game need only look at the newest official "event" the people in charge thought would be compelling.

There was a "roleplaying event" where a bunch of adult players decided to roleplay as "royal children" and have a "playdate picnic". This has to be the most bizarre use of event characters I've ever seen.

The lunatics are running the asylum. Don't bother.

It really was awkward as hell.

QUOTE (Songa @ Jul 14 2016, 07:47 AM) *
I was apart of this roleplay club briefly before it disappeared. If you ever attended the roleplay meetings then you would know how much of a headache it was to get the ball rolling.

Firstly, it seemed to mostly be run by Loxie who had been there forever and did a lot of the work. Even I was burnt out just going to meeting after meeting and watching her struggle to get anything done.

Secondly, everyone there had a thousand other positions. So needless to say, they were busy people.

Thirdly, we had to come up with everything on our own. mug provided assistance but we had to come up with (and agree on) events. I personally never saw any event come to be because it was next to impossible to A. Get people to agree on an event and B. Get people to help. In theory it should've worked. In order to be in the club, you had to apply through a ticket. A lot of the players who joined were all talk and no action. I can't tell you why. They were probably overwhelmed with the fact that we were tasked with creating large events from scratch, something the workers at KRU should be doing. This is the fundamental problem with the game.

If KRU wants to squash this elitist attitude, they need to allow every player the chance for feedback and stop relying solely on secret clubs. Every player should be able to provide their thoughts on things that change the game, not a few chosen people who are so far removed from anything beyond their tiny little secret clubs that they can't see past it.

I didn't run it. And the reason the events were never released was because the GMs reneged on their promise to give us a GM supported event every three months. Enlighten wrote the pirate zombie event and it was sent in. After stringing us along for a few months they decided there was no longer any use for Kinung Council and never released the event.

My main concern was that the events were inflexible and didn't allow for player involvement to sway the way things were going and that they kept introducing new storylines instead of elaborating on the older ones. If it seemed like I was struggling with anything it was trying to keep events on topic and fluid. Example: Cheyn shouldn't have died, but permission was granted so on it went.

My favorite was Kinung's haunted house event. It showed how the creativity of players can vastly improve events if KRU supports them.

The justice system needs some major changes.

Namely, the reporting system should be used to filter out spam, garbage, and situations only requiring warnings, time out, or silencing. Jailings should strictly be done by a KRU employee that oversees the justice team. As it is, it takes a team of players to handle everything.

The rules also need to be changed. A toggle filter would be a good start, but even then there are people who will filter skip. If a customer doesn't want to be cursed at or be abused by another customer, they shouldn't be. It's that simple. This is where a player justice team would be useful. Rather than outright jailing they can receive warnings. If the player continues to be an ass take their sage, silence them, whatever needs to be done to get the point across that their behavior towards the other players is unacceptable.

Insta-jailings are also stupid. Sometimes people do stupid things. Why take their gameplay away from it if it's an isolated incident?

*My* major concern is Wony's post regarding the bannings. Yes, ban cheaters. But you are running a company. If you want to start advertising like you claim you do, you can't be going on a tirade and calling your customers filth and scum. Remove their access, but be professional about it. Resorting to an insulting, inflammatory post like that only encourages players to participate in vigilante justice and start harassing others.

Like new events, go free to play, or adding incentives for old players to return (MapleStory style) and new players to play.

Besides, if they can find folks to script for free, they can find folks who will do graphics for free. It's actually easier if you are offering shares in a startup.

My hang up is programmers. I can't imagine finding anyone willing or capable to build an entire client for free. I imagine most people looking to fund games at least want a preview of the game.

I disagree this is an issue.

There are several aspects to the NexusTK IP.

Sound, music and Graphical assets in the NexusTK game client: Owned by NEXON who has licensed it to KRU Interactive. But this is only the specific audio and image creations used in the client. No one owns the idea of a flaming sword, a dragon, a monkey, ancient Korea style villages, etc You can make your own graphics and music that is similar and because it is original work, it cannot be considered copyright infringement.

Copyright protects the specific details of a drawing, not the idea expressed in the drawing.

People are also supposedly getting hit by shopping at target, walmart, amazon, and using paypal. And hospitals, like XingYu may have posted (or just messaged me) saying.

XingYu said there's nothing reported on EZIC's end. When I ticketed KRU the response was immediate, so I almost wonder if they're aware.

My confusion is that it's only Nexus players affected and none of their other games. Why would it just be us? I haven't had issues with it either, but I tend to stick to auto-renew and don't buy kruna.

Whatever the situation is, if KRU is responsible they need to fix it. Immediately. Nothing kills a company faster than complacency when their customers are being robbed.

Kru's response:

Hello,

Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

To prevent such a thing from happening in the first place, we do not keep any credit card information in our system.
And the user interface you see during checkout is actually the interface of the payment company.
It's very very heavily encrypted transaction, and their business is secure payment processing.
Because of that, we need to get a better understanding of your (and other players) incidents.
If you could provide more information, such as :

- Who fraudulently charged your card, and for what amount (info you see on statements)
- What coupon (registration, kruna, autorenewal etc) you purchased prior to this incident
- Payment processor, if you remember

Any information would help us to look into this in more depth.

Thank you for your constant support.

Actually, repeatedly posting about it is sort of annoying and seems a little off topic. But eh.

And I concur, Renal. How is sitting around on a Nexus forum complaining about how Nexus is a waste of time not a waste of time? If you hate Nexus so much why not play another game and sit on their forums, go out someplace, or maybe knit some socks?

I like your words, Joe.. But mostly because they come from you!

Even if Nexus went f2p, they wouldn't have to completely change it. People would still be willing to be drudges for Nexus even if they didn't have to pay to do so.

And yes, Nexus is probably doomed. However! On the Dreams board Aeons suggested we send tickets to Kru on the subject if we want our opinions to be heard. I'd say it's good advice. I should probably update that..

Another incentive with f2p would be that these volunteers aren't paying to spend their efforts on the game. It would be likely that people might feel less like they're paying to work part time for a game and more like it's a fun hobby.

Nexus might be more fun with more players on, but I think if it were free the amount of players that would flock would cause problems with the community and servers. Why would a larger population ruin the game for roleplayers?

Laren - I'm sure they would make plenty, and if they didn't they could add major items.

Purges - People can unpurge for $30 a character.

In my opinion the item shop should only have items that don't have a major advantage in the game. It feels like the integrity of the game would completely disappear if people can just buy Sa san through the company.

If they added better outfits, accessories, scrolls, and even a special (cosmetic) treat for people who pay a premium price (like Laren suggestion) it would be fantastic.

mug used to say that Nexus would eventually become free to play if the item shop was a success. I'm fairly sure it is, if for no other reason than Muses feed on the crap.

But really, it seems most people who play this game dont even like the game, but still plays it.

Drugs at its finest.

Definitely. The first year everyone seems so nice. The second you realize most of them are.. Insane.. And want to run like hell, but there's four or five great friends you've made and you're stuck with responsibilities in the game. So you're basically paying to be slave labor. The hell is up with that?

So if I'm going to be paying to work for others, I'm going to be as obnoxious and silly as I can, even if the character annoys. Forget anyone who doesn't like it.

Oh! I have my own thread. Does this make me famous now?

I'm bored enough to pop by the NF and even make a rebuttal:

1.) I'm aware of the situation, through my own eyes as well as through observing the actions of others. (None of this was from Atilla, by the way. You can leave our friendship out as an excuse for my opinion.)

2.) I should have probably been clear, with the whining comment, that it was directed at the constant harassing sages by several "True Barbs". I appreciate your efforts to take initiative, though. Very creative!

3.) Professionalism? I'll be professional when I'm paid. While I won't knowingly post false information (Sorry about that last report about the Merchant. I don't remember seeing that message before, so naturally I posted it when someone brought it up to me) I'll definitely post opinions. I warned Vini when he told me he made me a reporter account that I was going to Loxify my news. I decided a long time ago that if I'm going to be doing things for a game I don't really like any more, I'm going to at least try to amuse myself with it. Reminds me, I wanted to do an Ask Loxie column.

4.) ShiKago - I'm glad you like them! I feel a little bad for the people who've played Mhul and Poems over the years, but I have to amuse myself somehow.

As for Atilla's post, I felt it was the least I could do. I think his biggest problem as an Elder was his attempts to be a lenient peacemaker. Knowing what a great guy he is, and how he just wanted to bring some activity to his path, it irritated me like nothing else watching the constant hassling and mocking by people he tried to keep out of trouble.

Yeah, he may have overreacted to some of what went on, and he may not be the easiest person to have a conversation with, but after what went on can you really blame him for shutting people out completely? I know from experience - when people are constantly hounding you, you tend to get irritable. I admire Atilla's response when he stepped down. He could have run away long before, but he remained standing. He didn't rob the bank or remove everyone from it.

As for Spy - I've been writing an article on the Payanes situation since my path lockdown post. If you have screenshots and a story to add, let me know. I'll keep your name out of it.

The first screen shot I posted isn't the start of the conversation, but it is a few screen shots in, which I believe I did post. Take the time to look through them all please. Regardless, the fact is, I was not harassing or attacking you.

Please note that I in now way supported Venca's suspected testing methods and that I do not know if that is what he was doing for a fact. In that first screen shot, I was just saying that Misled should try not to get worked up about such things and lead him into performing crazy aggressive actions.

-sigh- this really is getting old

I went back and looked at all of the ones you posted. The beginning of the conversation is still missing.
