No one wants to wade through the [Content removed]ty boring parts where no one is actively playing when there's new content the end game player base is currently playing.
I'd disagree, if only because old content can still be playable if updated to be muuuuch more easy to get through and more rewarding. Kind of like what Blizzard did with older vanilla WoW dungeons when Cataclysm appeared. But, knowing Kru...

No other successful game time gates people into being forced to be weaker for a year or longer, while having that gate force you to watch every word you say, be it public or private, because one slip up can completely trash your character.
lol, that draconian swearing law is still in full effect huh. Nothing changes.

NTK has so much potential but it's completely drown out by boring, unimaginative and hell, downright stupid people in it's upper tiers of game management (archons) and the business leaders themselves.
I sensed that they didn't care long, long ago. Which was when I finally admitted to myself the game I knew was no more.

I agree that leeching is rampant; that is part of a bigger problem -- hunting is largely boring and tedious. No challenging caves, every single AI is the same for the most part (except woodlands...which... why would anyone ever hunt there if it isn't worth the experience?)
Tuning your game's mechanics is something even failing MMORPGs try to do. That Nexus doesn't even now is ... showing.

I do take issue with anyone ever saying that time trials are put in place so "I can experience other aspects of the game". It is no one else's business how I decide to spend my time on Nexus. If I want to hunt and get buff quickly, I should be able to because I chose to dedicate my time to that than to something else. I'm very aware of everything Nexus has to offer -- what if I want to create a new character? How come it's fair that I still have to wait that long to get Sam or Sa san? Forgive me, but this isn't 2000 anymore. Through even legitimate hunting, it can just take a matter of weeks (for the more casual player; days for the more hardcore) to obtain Sam stats. It's incredibly stupid and outdated that anyone has to just twiddle their thumbs and wait to get the mark when they've achieved the stats.
Also the mindset of gameplay has changed over the last decades. This seems to be a variant of the "hardcore vs. casual" mindset where mind-numbing slogging gameplay is more hardcore and should be reserved for the more hardcore players. That isn't going to fly now. No one has that kind of time, or energy.
