Oh man... I was like 6 when I started Nexus TK back in 2000. My cousin, who was two years older to me, somehow found the game and started playing. She stopped playing after about a month. I took up Nexus and at the time but did not know how to get out of the Welcome area because I did not know how to pick up items. As a result, I stopped playing, but did return a year or two later (I cannot remember). Being 7 or 8, I actually read the female NPC's dialogue inside that house in the Welcome area and learned how to pick up items. From then on, I proceeded to make characters every 7-8 days due to the 10-day free trial.
My first ever registered character came in the spring of 2003 (3rd grade), where I had a warrior named DomoanKashou for three months (levels 1-36). In that time, I joined my first ever clan, Oceana. After the three months, I got arrested for profanity (I remember reminding Warik about it, haha; I laugh about it today). My parents also discontinued my registration (not because of being arrested), and I reverted back to the 10-day free trial thing.
In 2004, I was registered for one month. My warrior's name was KnownFighter. I got him up to about 38, which at the time was my highest level character ever.
Between 2006 and 2008, I was registered for about three to four months thanks to various people in Nexus who I had made illegal deals (in Nexus TK terms) with. Several of my characters at this time were DomoanKashou (different from the 2003 version, and who I got to level 71, though only lasted for 1 month because the guy who registered me went MIA), and a few others who's names I cannot remember. In 2007/08, I was given a registration coupon by someone and used it to make my main Poet (Bocanegra today). That only lasted one month. However, I was given another registration coupon some time in 2008 and proceeded to make a new account of my own. I had made a character named RedStar, who was a Rogue that I got up to level 51 or 52. I joined Alizarin, where I became friends with people like Gina and Gamine. About a year ago, I resurrected the account with RedStar in it, but deleted the characters. I made a character named McBride, and he exists in that account. However, that account is one that I hardly ever register now days.
Between 2008 and 2010, I was unregistered and confined to Tangun, helping noobs out. Fortunately, one of my unregistered characters was made during the times where Tangun did not exist, but unregistered characters were no longer bound by the 10-day "free trial." That character was able to leave Tangun and come back.
It wasn't until August of 2010 (age 16) that I started to register on my own. In fact, I have been registered continuously (except for about two weeks) from August 2010 until today.
Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn, I miss the old days. Nexus was literally a big part of my childhood, but a HEALTHY amount. I spent more time running around the large apartment complex with my friends.
Though I have played Nexus for so long, I don't know many of the popular and legendary names of former players. Most of my early years on Nexus were spent unregistered, so I was not in any clan or subpath. Also, my memory is kind of hazy when I think back to my younger days on Nexus.
P.S.: Anyone know/remember Gina, Nicengng, or Knilly? These were my greatest ever friends in my Nexus PAST and it would be nice to know how they are doing and if they still play.

QUOTE (Bocanegra @ Apr 1 2015, 01:09 PM) From then on, I proceeded to make characters every 7-8 days due to the 10-day free trial. Dedication, ambition. I did this for awhile in free time too way back I remember, dont have my first batch of characters either - ye know. Boca right though, they unbanned some serious banned kids recently. You shouldnt have a problem. And I dont know any of those names, sorry. =[

Agreed. Excellent job DM! I wish you the best. Don't worry about the haters that will surely show up.

Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?

I was : 12 years old when I made my first character, NeMiSiS. I was a shy kid in school and was able to get out of my shell through the game. I played with my friend, Dustin, who lived in the same town and we would play for hours.
I am : A 27 year old father of 2, happily married, and managed to get a novel published like I always dreamed. I was always good at writing stories in the game (a lot of my work ended up getting people to Ee and still remains on the Story board under various different authors *ahem*) and my writing really began in Nexus with the subpaths prior to the quota.
I won't ever register into Nexus again, and just randomly looked this site up to relive the nostalgia, and it is good to see names I remember from days long gone bye. I really, at the end, only played to host carnages and Bloodlusts that I hope people still remember me for. I always had a blast as a carnage host, even with the whining.
So, to those of you I remember and those of you who remember me, nice to see you again. I brought this account out of purgatory to say hello and goodbye.
NeMiSiS, JaGGeD, Symphony, Fallenhope, and so many others throughout the years signing off.
Goodbye friends and former enemies.

But seriously, you should register and stop in. Thinking about it. Reading this forum through last night made me miss the game, to an extent. I'm over the drama, but I did send out a text to some of my old friends to see if they still play and, due to a response from a few, have decided to try and get my account back for a month. If Kru makes the ticket difficult then I'll just pass on it altogether but, if I do manage to get it done easily, it'll be nice to see a few old faces and see what's been going on in the game. I went through Songa's entire thread last night(the one about the muses) and it was hilarious.

I was twelve years old and bored in a rural part of Oklahoma. Nexus had just barely come from beta and I remember looking up a word, "nexus," on Google. I was a bit fuzzy on its meaning. The game definitely got me through a good part of middle and high school, where I was frequently bored, picked on, or doing work that felt way too easy for me.
Today I'm thirty, living on my own, with a great job as an advertising copywriter. I make 'zines and write poems on the side. Nexus developed a nascent love of poetry that I have used in my personal and professional pursuits. It's a great life and I feel completely at ease.
People I have met on Nexus have come from all walks of life and I am grateful for having known you all for so long.

I went through Songa's entire thread last night(the one about the muses) and it was hilarious. If you were purged, it'll cost ya $20-$30, I forget which. I sent one in at one point, and decided it wasn't worth it after they told me the cost. It's a joke really, the company is as dumb as they can get. Instead of restoring characters, getting a $10 revenue boost for that month (more if the player sticks around for a few months) they set this arbitrary price on restores, and prevent people from wanting to come back. Most game companies do things to bring players back (I get free game time offers from Blizzard pretty much non-stop) while Kru seems to do whatever they can to make sure they stay away.
