I just saw a quick glimpse of the Sun Moon Sect... anyone know where I can find screenshots or stuff to view the whole clan map and all their areas... I have a bad feeling about what I just saw.

Yeah, I always thought Sun Moon clan hall was the best. Oh well -shrugs- It lasted for a long time Genji, it couldn't last forever >.<

Ok, I was sure someone was going to post images when Genji asked which was why I moved this topic to the photo album..

So I guess I have to fix my mistake. I found the images on Sun Moon's website, in a post about changing the maps.

the map as a whole is not bad.
minor details with low res and high res tiles on edges of things.

What are you starting with us for? SunMoon is more than fair to your role as founder and this main hall revision has nothing to do with removing you. The legend you adapted of Rokol and Igarashi is our legend, the NPC angel khaos relates it as probably verbatim to how you wrote it. Additionally, your original vision for the Sky Lounge to be a secret room is even more secret on the new one.

It's still the house khaos built -- but we have been more than fair -- maybe too fair -- at respecting your legacy considering the way you treat us.

Oh god, how was this can of worms opened? Haha

Much like everything else in SunMoon these days, the clan had a vote to choose the design and an earlier clan meeting fleshed out the "4 goals" listed below.

I appreciate the feedback, but as Primogen, I really only care what the members I serve think (and that's difficult enough as we have over 200 members!) ^^

A NEW Clan Hall for a NEW YEAR!

Well, after much hard work and effort and following the requests and suggestions from Clan members - Clan Council has FINALLY agreed upon and voted to implement a new Clan Hall Map! At the moment the map has been requested and we are roughly 90% through the approval process with KRU! Please take a look at our new design, which we HOPE will be implemented anytime before January 31st!

Thank you to all the Clannies who submitted ideas and to Clan Council who has worked tirelessly to reach a final design, that we hope will please everyone.

This designed aimed at 4 goals which seemed to sum up the majority of clan requests..


#1. Not to change the overall structure of the clan hall.
(Not too different Mucky!)

#2. To update the map and implement new graphics!

#3. To add a balcony to the Clan hall!

#4. To include our Clan's Roleplay & History!
(Thus, it looks like the Palace of the Sun God & Moon Goddess!)
(WITH their thrones!~)



Note: The thrones which were in the previous design were denied. We have replaced them with statues of the Sun god Rokol and the Moon goddess Igarashi, as they are important to the Clan's roleplay.

There are some errors in those maps.

For example, in the second image, the ground of the bottom of the bridge should continue for one more tile (but that would in turn, make the bridge asymmetrical; the real solution would be to add a central water tile in with an extra row of bridge tiles, then get rid of the two hanging bridge-rails, while leaving the bottom half of the map in it's place).
And in both images, the south wall is missing its roof tiles, and there are horizontal roof tiles going along the vertical side walls, when there should be a corner roof tile at each corner and then vertical tiles (that may be due to a lack of said tiles in the mapmaker, though).

Like Falaris said in the other thread, it's basically common sense -- no background in arts or game design is needed. tongue.gif

I guess clan hall 'character' comes in different forms for different people, or maybe its simply that we lived in a hall with those 'errors' for so long that they became a part of our home and we'd be sad to see them gone.

Also, the final map Rachel posted is not actually the final map. As many other Primogens/Elders have posted... when you submit map requests... you're sort of at the whims of the gods as to how they are edited and then implemented. There were a few major things the Archons/mug changed at implementation, but I'm not going to get into all that technical stuff.

That's cool; if the clan is aware of the map's mistakes and still voted to keep them for the reasons you outlined, then all the power to them. To each his own -- kudos to the clan for knowing what they want. wink.gif
