Nexus Forums _ Questions, Requests, and Help Forum _ Fastest Way To Level, 1-99?

Which caves are the best to hunt in, leech in whatever. Let's see what everyone's opinions are. I haven't read anything like
this since before the ATG were implemented, or possibly even before Tangun, so I'm a bit out of the loop. Any help is
appreciated.

I have a guide on my website,

DM's guide might be outdated. He based that information off the 50's and 60's of lvling. If he edits it though, it will be a perfect guide. happy.gif I used the old guide to level Ex years ago.

Bandit cave in tangun from level 1-20.

Get a rogue to spam iron lab (Giant iron tigers) with death traps. You'll 1 zap/taunt them after 1 trap and you get a hell of a lot of experience really fast there. You can probably get from level 20 - 50 in about an hour of that.

Then just hunt ATG 3 from there.

I've done the exact same thing and found it to be the fastest way.

Actually I did update the guide, which is why it includes Tangun data in there.

Still, some of those things are outdated. The Ancient Training Grounds haven't been included at all in there and I'll tell you right now that is the fastest place pretty much for young ones to hunt

There's also little things like your guide saying you won't get gateway until level 50 (which isn't true, I did this recently at level 20 and I got gateway as soon as I left Tangun). Unless I'm just not seeing it, it also doesn't say you need to be actually registered for the green snake Escape to let you leave.

Just small things like that.

Because they're non-attack on sight units, Flash traps/blind emulate paralyze in Tangun. I found with a rogue, you can flash trap/invis hit from the back and level pretty quickly solo.

you only get gateway when you leave tangun. so if you pay the 10k and find the snake, you get it early, but otherwise, you have to wait to 50. I think that is what he is talking about.

You can leave Tangun if you are registered at any level IF you have a Kingdom scroll from the Item Shop or you give the character a Qui hyang. Then you can learn gateway at one of the town guild halls. You'll live in the Wilderness until you use gold acorns to move. As long as you are neutral you can use a yellow scroll to go back to Tangun anytime you like and use gateway to leave.

1-5 - death trap leech in tangun horse stables (can also do this all the way to 15)
5-15 - Bandit cave solo
15-20 - green squirrels
20-36 - gim-yi's den death trapping
36-50 - haunted house death trapping
50-63 - vale skeletons death trapping
63-70 - mantis death trapping
70-84/95 - wilderness lobster leeching
95-99 - woodland tako leeching

Alternatively, at 84 you can go to Northern Ogres and leech or from 70 you can do Chum's basement which some people think are faster.

This is an important topic, should be pinned.

Just to let whom ever needs this know, eliminate green squirrels 15-20 (can't leave tangun until your level 20). Do Bandit cave solo up to 20

Wouldn't tako leeching be hard now? I thought the caves were tiered.

Posted by: Rokugo Jun 29 2009, 10:01 PM

Only the desert and bears have tiers. The rest are still single caves.

Posted by: TilakTkkch Jul 5 2009, 03:41 PM

False, if registered you can qui hyang out at any level or at level 5 (past Le Chipe) is the messenger, kruna yourself a wilderness scroll, walk to a guild to learn gateway, and presto chango you can now gate your butt out of tangun.

Which is weak because Tangun is awesome =)

Wouldn't this be a bit more useful if people that are new had some more information on places to level.. without leeching? Heck, I even made a character today just to pass some time, and i'm actually going through tangun for once instead of using cheap tactics to get out. XD

Posted by: Mazel Jul 18 2009, 08:01 PM

I went to Vamour in Tangun on my 50 rogue and got like a tenth of my tnl per creature. They're tough but not aggressive.

I miss pre-99 Nexus, but its gone forever. HOWEVER, Tangun adds a fun element for those levels again even if most of it is solo. If you're making a new character for fun and don't care how fast you get 99, I'd recommend playing around in Tangun.

I notice there are many new pre-99 caves since this was last discussed. Any idea where to group hunt after Tangun, level 80 or so?

We recently tried Aklak grounds and the exp was really good. Any suggestions?
