I remade Ally's poll since it was a bit flawed..

As for my own opinions..

It's obvious, without a poll, that people want them. It's NA's job to give its users what they want.

If you don't like it, don't use it.

And as for the comments on the other thread, I used to have time to not just solve events on my own, but create the walkthroughs and the images for them. I would also have time to complete the quest on all 4 of my characters.

Now I didn't even have the time to get the legend mark for entering the lost mines. I don't have time to figure out walkthroughs, nor do I wish to now that most event quests consist of "I want a shiny item" A stardrop? "No, not that" A white amber? "No, not that" A crafted white amber? "No, not that" (100 guesses later) 7 stardrops and 1 white amber? "Yes! Exactly what I needed!"

Regardless of what NA decides to do, the NF rules post doesn't say anything about walkthroughs.

It is kind of interesting seeing the difference in votes based on how the poll is worded.

I actually voted in this one.

I almost entered (Clicked it, but fixed it) the wrong answer in the last poll, I'm sure other people made mistakes. Of course, it's entirely possible that these are just new voters and all the old ones haven't voted yet.

You really have to be clear and to the point if you want accurate results. You can't try to be funny like you see in a lot of online polls. You see things like..

Do you like Halloween?

1. Yes! I love the occult and devil worship!
2. No! I wish small children were all put to death!

And you're like, "Ummm.. nevermind."

It's missing a third option "#3 Yes I love spiking candy with venom to kill off all the children."

There. You can love halloween and still hate children. =P

I wish polls show who voted for what. It seems the people who voted for "Don't post walkthroughs at all" have nothing to say..?

I say post them, but wait awhile. If an event runs for two weeks, post it at the beginning of the second week. Some people don't have time to do events without walkthroughs... so why should they complain if they have to wait a little? Let people who want to complete it without a walkthrough do so, let people like Jisong feel superior for a little while =P, then post a walkthrough later so everyone who wants to can do the even before it's over.

I wanted a walkthrough for this event and I got one with one sage on the second day. I'm sure I would of gotten it on the first day but I wasn't on, my point is just post it on NA if people already email it to each other.

Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?

NexusNetwork was founded on providing information, especially event walkthroughs, as soon as possible.

Walkthroughs are a part of NexusAtlas. If we don't provide it, someone else will.
Waiting is bull. If people want to use a walkthrough, they will. If they don't have one and don't have the time, they won't do the event. It's unfair to them.

I don't care what people have to say about those who do 'work' and those who don't. Free riders will be a problem in all societies, no matter how much you try to weed them out. When TS played, he and I could finish an event and pump out a walkthrough within the first few hours and we didn't care who used our work. The satisfaction we got was knowing we did it on our own, but we were humble enough to not be cocky ass holes and deny everyone else the information.

If ever NexusAtlas forbids walkthroughs from being posted as soon as possible, expect a walkthrough to my resignation post that day.

I'm one of them.
I also don't really care at all either.
Personally, I don't see a point in building/running an event if everyone is going to use a written guide to speed their progress through it to get the reward.
Why not just skip the even and hand out rewards for people who just read a short story instead?

I can, however, see the argument in favor of walkthroughs clearly as well.
Many events are poorly made, confusing/convoluted/overly complicated, and entirely too time intensive.
That isn't any fun either. A good deal of them are probably rather static as well, which is unfortunate, IMO.

Which would apply to most player-run events.

I think the problem is that events aren't really that fun to do anymore, and figuring them out is a headache more than anything. They are not hard because there are clever puzzles or clues on where to go next. They are hard because it is a bunch of spamming words at NPCs until the right one triggers it or there are weak clues about where you need to go next. Even then, you may be right in talking to the correct NPC, but if you aren't saying the right word then you might give up and leave. I have better things to do than typing random words at in-game robots. Like sitting here typing about my discontent. wink.gif

I think current live events are the glaring example of why you need to hire people with actual game design experience to be game designers. Being an archon doesn't count. I know the Kinung council is also trying to work with KRU to make these events happen and all, and I do appreciate the effort, but work put in by players doesn't automatically make an event fun.

I haven't done this event, but from reading the walkthrough it just looks like more of the same, and this is another reason why I like walkthroughs being posted - I can skim it and get the general idea of the work that will be necessary to complete an event and decide if it is worth it or not.

If you don't want a walk through posted, make an event to which a walk through could not fully apply.

I think there should be a 48-hour spoiler-free window, after which walkthroughs should be posted.

Most events are such a headache that even with a walkthrough I don't bother to complete them. Like this Halloween event, I was not going to shell out more than 200k on inflated keys just to get some crappy robes or a handful of dye potions. And some of those rooms were just plain annoying.

Like several above have said, walkthroughs have existed in TK pretty much forever, at least as long as I can remember, and NA was put together to disseminate just that type of information. I doubt that anything will change.
